Don't know if it's the original engine. How can I know if it came with it?
For reference, the 2F serial number on my '84 FJ60 with a December 1983 build date is 2F 792002. I know it's the original engine because I bought the vehicle new and still own it.

From Post #373 on Page 19 of this thread, there's an April 1984 build date FJ60 with serial number 2F 822650. So that's 4 months for 30,648 2Fs, or about 7,662 per month. If yours was a September 1983 build date that would be 3 months earlier than mine, or a serial number about 3 X 7,662 = 22,986 lower than mine. 792002 - 22,986 = 769016. Doesn't really tell me one way or another. What is the build date of your FJ60?

Without looking through list what does 2f 883378 look like it came out of. It's in my 1980 fj40 ?
See Post #373 on Page 19 of this thread.

No production dates for the FJ60 that bracket your serial number, but they belong to @FJ40Jim and @Mace. In any case, from an '86 or '87 FJ60.

Ok found the list. And after cleaning I can see #s better. They are 2f 883396 so I'm guessing it is a 2f engine out of a 60 and dropped into my 1980 fj40 ? Does this sound right ?

Does this thread still want fj40 #s even though 2f engine was replaced ? I think my fj is a conglomeration of parts and years

Is it possible that the engine could have been shipped as a replacement ?

If you have an original 2F in your 40 or 55, please post up your engine serial number, and the month/year of your truck build and the vin if you would. I am trying to complie 2F year data.

I will be posting this up in the 60 section as well.

Thank you for your help!
