Weekend progress

Not much progress to report, just did block prep and put the main bearings and crank in.

I went over and checked it out Sunday. That's going to be one might tidy little engine. Probably better than new!!

Mike, please reach out to us if you need an extra hand or two to install that motor. I usually can help out on the weekends when I'm not working on the honey do list.

It's not just installing the engine. I see that head laying on the floor and just the thought of lifting it then setting straight down on top of the block with a new head gasket and my back starts hurting. Then mating the transmission, transfer case and I need pain pills. I will say that is one clean looking engine.

some more progress

After my garage cooled down a bit, I made some progress. I checked the ring gap, put the rings on and dropped all the rods and pistons in. Next stop is the camshaft and timing set.

some more pics. I used fuel line to protect the rod journals from the threaded ends. Positioning the rings properly and putting the ring compressor on are the key pieces. I used assembly lube of course.
