The pillars are made with two layers sandwiched together. The spot weld pattern looks like it was some kids first day on the job at the Toyota factory.

Interesting observation here though. This has obviously been dipped with a coating but it did not reach inside this pillar due to the parts being pinched together so tightly. There is actually bare metal on both sides, with a line where the coating couldn't reach. There is a fair amount of the bare metal had been preserved without rust. Im kinda geeking out here. This would also explain why the rust happens so badly on these 55's. I haven't noticed this at all on 60's, anywhere.

Every time you pull out a new piece of the patient for repair it is astounding.

Are these all real time photos in the order you are doing the work, small piece by small piece?

Dissect and repair ALL the pieces shown before reassembling any of them?

What does the body look like? What's left in place at the furthest point of taking it all apart before reassembling then?????

The morbidly curious would love to see

Basically "yes" is the answer to those questions. Im uploading photos each day I work on it. I will try and get a picture of the body today. Its on blocks, as it cannot be installed on a rotisserie because too many pieces are removed. We just removed more parts this morning. Im considering taking all of it apart now, all the floor pieces, everything down to a pile of parts then reassemble it without rust anywhere. There isn't much left holding it together at this point.
