I hope you don't need me to come out there to help you put it back together!
Maybe! Currently, there is no longer any place on the rear to connect the rotisserie. We are at another level! I love projects that are done completely like this one.

I was contemplating chemical dip followed by e coating

Some may consider it blasphemy, but I had the entire top and bottom side of my tub covered in Line-X. I like to think it will help with corrosion.

Or.... it'll lock moisture in and it'll just be plastic with a red dust center.

It REALLY quieted up things though. Impressively so.

I agree, it is a great protective coating. I use it on my personal projects and customer's projects when they want it. I will most likely remove the floor braces, and at that point, I can prep everything for any coating. Since it will obviously be garaged and never driven in the rain, seeing the underneath painted would be so nice.

I was wondering when you were going to stop dismantling and installing metal before the house comes tumbling down. I'm curious, how much is available for replacement and how much is going to be fabricated? Looks like you have the ways and means to make what you need in that shop.

I am at a stopping point with removing parts as of today. Some new parts were included when the body was delivered but I don't like them, so I am making everything I need. I have already made a DXF file for the lower fender patch panels and had them cut. Most of this is not too complicated, so it shouldn't be difficult. I do have most of the tools I need, although I tell myself I need more everyday.

These pieces are not spot welded anywhere. Thus is a piece that connects the D pillar and quarter to the rear sill. They were only welded in a few spots on the edge where I circled here. There are several places on this vehicle where the parts are just welded in corners or edges.

If you have all this completely apart like an unbuilt lego kit, it would be amazing to get detailed measurements/scans done of the individual pieces to be able to have reproductions made at some point.

I'd imagine not many people have gone this far to separate the individual pieces that are in decent enough condition to actually record the dimensions and details.

Just asking you to do way more work, that's all. 😁

Good idea. I don't have a scanner though, I do everything the old way. I will have some rust repair panels made though. I already have the lower fender pieces made and the DXF file to cut more.

I’m a bit sad this isn’t in the Pig sub form, but very happy I found it today.

I’m also sad seeing how much rust is hiding in a pig that looks soooo much better than mine 😕
