It should probably be pointed out that a larger tire technically requires less backspace to keep your scrub radius as-stock. I’m not sure how much you need to move things to keep this in check. A large scrub radius change can make for all kinds of bad behaviors.. I’ll let you do the research.
That said.. I’ve personally never been a fan of spacers despite other people’s success with them. Double the lugs/studs to have problems with, hardware that might not be as strong as stock, etc. Fortunately I don’t need to run them, with my Rock Warriors putting the tire/wheel exactly where I want them, so I guess I’m lucky. And if it didn’t, I’d be looking at different wheels with the correct offset or maybe a tundra arm swap.

Thanks guys. I will try without them and see how it turns out. I am just excited to get rid of my 20 inch conestoga wagon wheels lol

I feel scrub radius changes are overblown on this site.

I put +25mm SCS wheels on the 4Runner and was genuinely concerned I’d notice a change in the way the truck drove. I am extremely sensitive to changes and notified absolutely NONE. In fact, the truck felt more stable with the near 3” increase in width. No change to turning radius, no change in handling, no change to suspension feedback and control etc.

Front end geometry and components are near identical between the Cruiser and the 4Runner with the exception of everything being magnitudes larger and more HD on the Cruiser.

Scrub radius does matter more on a FWD vehicle (look at what Honda did with the CTR) but it is designed the way it is for a reason.
How hard you drive will impact things like torque steer, but to me the most important part is under hard braking. Yes our power steering systems are high-assist but during an emergency stop if your scrub radius is way off steering the vehicle will be twitchy and any changes in traction under either front tire will exacerbate this.

Ok. Here they are. Still have to put the 275/65/18 michelin Ltx a/t on them but I think it looks better already. I am amazed at the ride improvement. Where the old tires 20" 50 series crashed over sharp bumps these just make a dull thud and absorb much better. Feels more like my old 100 series.thus is how I expected this truck to ride from the first time I got it. If anyone is on the fence do it lose the 20 inchers.

This thread has been extremely educational. I will be doing a similar setup on my 2010 LX570. Thanks to everyone who's contributed to this discussion!

Yep, I’ve got the LC wheels on LX as well. I purchased the 20” LX wheel center caps and it’s a perfect fit on the wheel. I did change the metal hub cap to the late model LC/LX version to avoid having to trim the caps.

I just had this done and the center cap does interfere. It pushed the front center caps out about 5mm. I had to trim the back of the caps to fit. The tire shop did not say there was any issue with fitment when installing other that the center caps. This is the part number for the Lexus center caps for 2016 cruiser wheels. 4260B-60390

What size tires did you go with? Looks great. I’m looking to eventually do this to my 2010 LX570. When you say no rubbing, are you running stock everything except wheels and tires? No sensor lift?
Thanks for all the help. This is a great thread

285/65/18 on LC wheels. Not had a single rub anywhere under any driving conditions l. I’ve also had it fully drooped and stuffed and not had any rubbing either. Nothing else done, spare fits as it should in stock location.

That’s very helpful. Thank you. Love the look you have with those LC wheels. Exactly what I’m looking to do.

Does the TPMS need to fiddled with when i go with 285/65/18? I plan to recycle the ones in my stock 2010 LX570.

TPMS doesn't care. You may need a TPMS service kit (like $8 for a set of four at Napa) if yours are stuck, damaged or corroded.

Tire shop just switched the sensors from my old wheels to new. There was no cost on my end

It is just the plastic center cap that sits slightly proud on the front wheels. Unless the LX is drastically different than the LC. But the LX photo above seems to indicate it's just the front plastic center caps that need slight modification (sanding plastic that does not change the clip section). Its common that the tire shop doesn't want to mess with the possibility of damaging / modifying the center caps, but its not hard to remove a bit of unnecessary plastic yourself and pop it in.
I'm loking to install 2019 LC wheels on my 2003 LX470. I've gotten conflicting feedback regaridng the fittment. Some say the front will need 1 inch spcares, others say no need. Do any of you guys know for sure? Thanks

16+ landcruiser wheels have a smaller hub cap diameter than 2008-2015. That is probably where the confusion comes from. Your 19 wheels will probably need to move outward to clear the longer hub. If you search in the 100-series section I believe the same problem is there for “rock warrior” wheels which have a very similar issue.

Can anyone confirm if the below 2015 LC wheels would work fine with a 2013 LX 570? My understanding from Mud threads is that they should be a good match without a spacer required. Then pair with a 285/65R18 for an easy fit? Maybe even 295/65R18?

He is offering $350 which is a bit steep given no one wants these... but perhaps he will come down a bit more.

Thanks!
