Did anyone address the kid participation question? I know Hannah participated fully last year and was pretty glad when she was able to pawn off the snorkel. Ironically (or not) she ended up picking her own pay of Star Wars swag.
I’m good with a kid only Dirty Santa... or letting them participate in the adult (b/c of the parent tax).

As of today I have a sitter but no 40 available, unless the paint dries quicker than expected and I can get the doors completed. Coming with 1 passenger and 1 dish for supper. Subject to change.

@erymer and @GLTHFJ60 Y'all are heading up the chainsaw crew so please sound in on what you want or don't want, and your safety requirements for this.

This isn't our first rodeo and not many will actually read the chainsaw safety info if I post it here, so it'll be addressed on site. Long story short, if you plan to run a saw, make sure you have chaps and headwear at a bare minimum. No jokes about a trucker hat as "headwear", or cut up leather pants as "chaps". Gloves are good too.

@AJR and @DeeRex This is a "Dirty Santa" gift exchange. While kids are always welcome and present, they typically don't participate due to the risk of getting an inappropriate gift.

We're all about family activities and whatnot, but I'd rather keep this long-standing tradition as an adult-only exchange. Dirty Santa doesn't get done until 10 or so at night, and with all the drinking that's going on, there really isn't time to do a second exchange.

Sounds good.

Robert and I can bring a chainsaw and other logging tools. I only ask because last year there was an issue with one or both saws. If you need anything, let us know.

Sweet, thank you. Make sure to bring your chainsaw PPE.

Yup. I think it was a perfect storm. The day I got home I got a new bar and was back in business. Cut some this weekend and she’s purring like a kitten. It’s never a bad idea to have an extra though. With that said we don’t need more than two people cutting. Once the logs are prepped I can usually keep two splitters busy. I’ll be there early Friday so most likely I’ll start just after noon if we have enough people to help. Otherwise we’ll wait till we have enough help. At least that’s my plan once the trailer is deployed and initial barn set up is done. As far as PPE, Johnny is spot on. If you are cutting, make sure you have chaps and headgear. My headgear is a helmet with ear protection and face guard. I also bring steel toed boots and gloves. As long as we have a Pike or prybar to help roll down logs. Safety rules the day and is priority one and we will handle on site before we get going as well as once anyone else arrives to help. Happy to answer any questions.

I have a Stihl 310, PPE, and a pair of cant hooks. It sounds like you have everything covered, so I don't want to crowd the deck. Should something change, let me know.

You and Robert should still bring your saws and ppe. If there's a problem with one of ours you can step in. If one of us gets tired, you can step in with your gear. Worst case scenario, we don't need your gear, but better to have it and not need it!

Yeah we “should” be covered but if you have the room it certainly wouldn’t hurt to bring it anyway. You just never know what might be needed.

I'll stand around and watch y'all play with your saws, I can't injury my back before driving cross county lol

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting some new people! Kinda sad my last ONSC for awhile.
