This year we will be feeding you in the Dutch John Trailhead parking lot. I'm making Tomatillo Pork Stew (I'll keep it on the mild side but will have hot sauce and maybe some jalepenos for you) and will have some tortillas and bread. We'll also have a couple flats of bottled water. Please bring anything else you require or ask me 'pretty please' for something else y'all might want.
If you'd like to volunteer for the illustrious title of Chow Monkey on Saturday, please let me know. You'll need to be in the lot 1.5-2 hours before serving to get everything set up and heating through. You'll also need to have room to transport our field expedient kitchen. You will not have to provide anything other than what we load you up with. Thanks in advance to anybody who considers this.
We'll make sure chow monkey duty is covered one way or another. I may be dragging Ted although willing at first up the trail so possibly Stacy and Court can help. Otherwise I will.
Well, after running into some snags then literally watching a bird for 30 minutes I realized how much time I've just wasted on Spotify. Yes. Sitting in front of a tv image of an album watching it like it's gonna do something. Found a channel or playlist or whatever the hell it's called that plays all the crap I like, but they're demo versions and weird live versions - so even better. Canned Heat's "On the Road Again" for the win.
The other up side to my wasted time is I thoroughly enjoyed the new Samsung 65. Insane audio quality for TV speakers. Whoops, gotta go now. "Slow Ride" is starting. That's good for about 9 more minutes. If only there was a way to play this stuff on my phone or in my car... I promise I'll finish loading soon.
The Shandors will be coming down Saturday morning and camping in the 60. We are bringing a new couple (Kerry and Kristen) that recently purchased an 80 and live in Asheboro too. I think bringing Mac&Cheese is part of the plan but my better half may punt last minute and make something else. Still working on our ETA but should be able to make the workday session I hope.
@JohnVee - ha! I definitely get caught up doing stuff like that all the time. Now it's playing the new Zelda game. All the sudden it's 2am and I need to wake up in 4 hours for work...

We are unfortunately not going to make it forecasting for 6 inches starting later today 3 hrs from home is making the wife a little nervous and other drivers in this area are not the best at the slightest hint of bad weather have fun guys wish we cold make it.
Another successful M&G! Many thanks to the members who planned and carried out that plan for a successful time at The Barn! I know this doesn't happen by chance and things have to happen behind the scenes that we just don't know about. Thanks to the Board for their efforts, thanks to Johnny Vee for the superb pork and a big thank you to Kenny and Lydia for allowing us to use the barn for the events. Their hospitality is second to none and we all need to thank them.
The food that everyone brought was superb, I personally enjoyed speaking with just about everyone, making new friends and getting to know the old friends better. The dogs were entertaining and the bonfire was warm! You guys rock! Thanks for making me feel welcome and sharing with me.
I look forward to many more events and hope to be ready for The Relic Run.
Edit: Stupid me, I forgot.....Thanks Izzy for the in-depth demonstration and instruction on the use of the Hi-Lift jack. I knew it was versatile but I didn't know it could be used for many more uses.
Had a ball!! Emailed out the survey for the charitable donation that was discussed during the meeting last night. I sent it out to all current members. If you did not receive it, email me and we'll get it straightened out; johnnyc300@gmail.com.
