test fit a few more things.. No Way I can resist a spin around the block on milkcrates!
Was scary / exciting tho..
didn't kick.. noticed no coil wire..
Didn't kick noticed fuel leak on frame.. DOH. Didn't hook up AN fitting from frame to bottom of fuel filter..
didn't kick.. fuel leak at bottom of filter..
Didn't kick. fuel leak at top of filter..
(See a theme here.. Fuel is traveling the correct direction)
didn't kick.. Fuel leak at cold start injector.
Vroom.. Louder than all getout..
DOH.. forgot exhaust gaskets at bottom of manifolds to header..
Sounds pretty good now..

My goal is to pull it out, turn it around by thurs evening when i have access to friends to help lift the rear bed back off.. Need to weld the exaust hanger bracket to the frame and button up some wiring. Then .. Rear half can prep for paint.. While i test fit a bit more on the cab stuff..

I now have a better discount at O'Rileys .. Needed a battery for the 45.. Didn't want to pay retail.. Poor girl was all sorts of confused when i explained to her .. I want this battery but I am not willing to pay your asking price..
Manager understood.. So now i'm the proud owner of a Deka / East Penn rebadged O'Riley battery type 9A78DT

Found some rust. Cut it out. I will clean it up later and thinking I may just fill it in with some kind of plastic?

I also started to lay out some ideas for the front bumper. Trying decide if I want the winch on top of the frame rail or inline with the frame like it use to be. If I go on top of the frame rail, it will make the bumper stick out about 2" further than factory to allow room for the winch. Thoughts? Probably personal preference?

On top of the frame rail.

This is the look that I am going for with a few minor variances.

If you put it on top of the frame rail, will you cut back the horns of the rail at an angle to gain some more clearance? If not, then leave the winch where it is, as it makes a nice skid plate and you really are not gaining any clearance. -- or am I missing something?

After looking at a few other bumpers, it looks like quite a few put the winch on top of the frame rail. My thoughts are to put it on top to avoid having a tall piece of metal across the front. I would angle it back in at the bottom to the frame rails much like the one that I posted up. After looking at ARB's and some others, I think I am going with the winch on top. I think more than anything, it looks better.

@StucknKS do you have the CAD file for that bumper ? I know he was offering it back in the day, if I ever built one that would be pretty close to what I'd want. The only thing I would change is adding an extra hoop over the headlights like an ARB.

No I don't have that CAD drawing but a friend of mine wants to draw mine out in CAD. Will see if that actually happens. Would be nice to get a cut/pieces list I can take to the metal shop.

Thanks 1MAC! Sounds good to me! I will be in touch!

Had some time the other night to start playing with some cardboard. This is close but needs to be a little deeper to allow more room for the winch.

That'll look awesome! There was a guy in the 80 series tech that was looking for a CAD file for the front end of the 80. I'll see if I can dig up the thread...

Whos truck?

Drove Henrietta for the first time. The last time she was registered was 1987 she hasn't moved under her own power in a long long time. I'm pretty happy!

Congrats!
