Congrats Mike! Love the name!

congrats to Mike! good lookin sliders, Mike2. nice find Sammy!

I used my winch to pull up some down trees a week or so ago. Its great to have steel cable some times.

Thanks man! Too bad they didn't fit. On 4 weeks from now with a set of Metaltechs. They stood by their product and are going all lengths to get it fixed

So to continue where I was at earlier, I ended up buying the MT sliders from 'em with the 20% off discount and they're going to be shipping those to me in about 4 weeks.

Got a new engine for the 40, Cat 3208. Ok it's for the bus :)

nice - what is that pump on the top of that thing - air compressor?

yep for the air brakes, might work for on board air

If it's still functional it should work great for OBA, has to be able to keep up with the demands of air brakes. Looks like a little two lunger? Old Wabco or Bendix?

Planning stages of converting to a diesel. Still need to find a reputable shop. Floor it diesel performance seems like a good place because I would trust diesel mechanics more than a hot rod shop. Dave's autobody and hotrod shop estimated anywhere from 3-5k for the work to install but I think it is more straightforward than that. Especially if I use a NV4500.

Front end maintenance and found loose bearings. One side easily corrected, other side damaged the spindle (boogered the threads) pulling the lock and adjusting nuts off. If someone has a spare spindle for sale, hit me with a PM. Otherwise its a call to CruiserYard and a few more deadlined days.

Should have got that socket sooner?

I saw a few parting out threads for 60 series in the classified section of MUD.

Marathon maintenance weekend at my house, though we took time off on Friday night to watch the KC T-Bones and fireworks at the stadium!

White 80 got the front end bearing re-pack remedy--thanks to 2fpower for the spare spindle, and REM for loaning me the 54mm socket!

Black 80 got new tires and rear brake rotors, calipers, and pads.

60 got new tie-rod ends and drag link ends; whew! I put this job off for waaaaaaay too long. Steering is tight now with no wandering between the lines.

Used Raptor Liner to cover up all the scuffs on my flares and installed new gaskets when I put them back on.

Also got my parts to build a tire swing out in the stock rear bumper. Should be going to the metal shop to put it all together next week.

Also got a new radiator, hoses, oil pump seal, crank shaft seal, distributor O ring, and thermostat. Plan is to get those all installed over the next couple of days.

Trying to get ready for a two week trip to Colorado at the end of the month.

Oh yeah, and I ordered a Sunseeker II awning and load bars that should be here Monday.

I am going to be busy.

Looking good Mike! I'll be super interested to see how your swing out turns out. I'd be very interested in copying that mod.

I'm picking up a new front bumper from another 80 owner in River market tomorrow that he built.

Installed the load bars and awning. Decided to get a full size roof rack. Hopefully it gets here before the trip.

The awning has been kid approved. They played under it for at least 2 hours.

That looks awesome.

That pic with the kids under the awning looks like it came out of a magazine for a 4th of July celebration! Great shot!

Got most of the spare tire swing out down today. Just need some new bolts, some grinding, and prime and paint.

Then put the plastic corner back together and relocate the license plate.
