Ordered the oversize ones. 8 - 10 day wait for them. :)

Looking forward to wheeling in a couple days!

Got the wheel bearing that went out 10 miles before I got to the New Year's Day wheeling park replaced.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Dwayne and Sammy for picking Lexi up and trailering her all the way to KC. The spindle had just a few light marks where the outer bearing spun a little bit. Could have been much worse if I had tried to push it more.

Also, Thank You Kelly for the parts, tools and warm garage to work in. Putting together an order for all the replacements.

EGR, We don't need no stinking EGR...

Initial test drive of a couple miles and I thought for sure the issue was the wheel bearing and problem solved but the squeaking came back this afternoon. :bang:

Got down on the ground along side while it was slowly driven past and noticed squeak frequency was the same as drive shaft rotation not tire rotation. A quick search in the 80 tech section and yes U-joints can be a source of a squeak or chirp before they get so bad they clunk.

Pulled the front drive shaft, took a quick drive with CDL locked = no squeak. Fortunately have a spare drive shaft so I installed that one and went for much longer test drive. Seems to be resolved.

Now I need to find out where to get new U-joints for a Double Cardan DS.

had inland do a few shafts for me as well.. I just gave them the shaft.. then they gave me the shaft...

Now when you say it was "driven slowly past"... you really mean you locked it in Low and let it go driverless, right?

This is old, but a few pics of me cleaning up the front fenders on the 4Runner after removing the plastic covers:
