Adding P/S to the 40

Started adding P/S to the 40 last weekend. I’ve had the steer gear and bracket for a long time but was missing the pump, pump mount, crank pulley and tensioner. It’s difficult to find 3B p/s parts without paying an arm and leg. Spector had what I needed on their clearance rack. I called them and made a lowball offer, they countered and we had a deal. I have everything mounted and I’m just waiting on my high pressure hose and fittings, should be completed this weekend.

Tim I have the part numbers to go to an fittings for that hose somewhere

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I537 using IH8MUD

Had a mechanic from my old shop call me. I was about to put a cage in the 4runner. He bought one with a cage in it but wanted an exo instead. We struck a deal and Erik and I went to pick it up. He cut it right in front of the b pillars and the whole thing came out in two pieces.

We set it on my rig and realized it was built for a truck with no back seats. It had an external bar that came through the body and was welded to the cage on the inside. Because of this there was an extra bar on the cage. After some Buffalo Sweat, we got to work doing more grinding to cut that bar out.

Erik got to try out the notcher attached to his new air over tubing bender mobile cart while making the pieces to sleeve the cage back together.

Got it all welded back together last night. Still need to move some rock lights so I can finish the frame tie in, but it's mostly done. Also need to figure out what do do about that tie carrier. It's nice but kills my storage space.

Huge thanks to Erik for the help getting thing installed!

First off that looks awesome. Now Ella can drive???

If you want an internal tire mount, put a horizontal bar on the left side of your third pic between the left vertical pieces of the rollbar, on the driver side. Then mount that carrier over there.

Thanks. That's what I was thinking on tire. I can even reuse that mount.

If she can reach the pedals, she can drive!

I didn't know someone else around here has a 3B!

I just sold the stock pump off my 3B a couple months ago! I was pretty leaky which is why it's gone.

In the great white north.

:)

Hwy 152 and I29 area. Waaaaaay up here.

We didn't stick around and check out rigs after the meeting. We pushed our kids to stay as long as we did, when it was time to go we were out!

I'll have to check out your rig in May!

First test drive with hydro assist. Man is it smooth!

Ordered switches for rock lights and reverse lights.
