On an LC it will kiss the drivers side KDSS sway bar on full lock. On an LX it’s no problem, you could probably go bigger lol.
Thanks that's what I thought but 285/65/18 or 275/65/18 goes in nicely with maybe just the front of well wind flap needing to be removed on 285?

HI all, I am 55k into set of Nitto Terra Grappler G2. I have probably another 10k to go and will need new tires. I am looking at the Terra Grappler G3 285/60R18 120T XL. I plan to replace all 5 and this will be my tire for this and next change. I looking for anyone that is running this tire and there thoughts. Note I live in Austin TX area. I mostly run road miles and tow boat. Rarely make it off road these days. I have really enjoyed the G2s they were quite, did everything I needed them to do and can't complain about how long they have lasted.

My .02… Look into Kenda tires, I’ve had two sets on two different vehicles. I have 5 people get them and love them, I used to work at an off road shop, so I have had a lot of reviews from owners / shop techs/ person seat time, and everyone who tries them loves them. I have not seen a tire mount and balanced with over 2 oz of weights! https://automotive.kendatire.com/media/737751/pcr-spec-sheets-2025-klever-at2.pdf

Let’s go even further. The same wheels allow and old school hub cap to be run. Honestly, it wasn’t my favorite…but it’s growing on me. Enough so that I haven’t taken them off due to being lazy in the winter. It gives a flex dream vibe. Or a kzj95 vibe. Idk. Again 0 offset, tires kenda 35x10.5r17

What suspension/lift are you running?

Anyone has any recommendations for 285/75/17's that don't beat you up on rougher roads?

Currently running 285/65/18 Ko2s in load range E and find them a bit stiff. Switching over to a 17" wheel setup...

Considering Falken AT4W in load C, but they're a bit too heavy and have mixed snow performance reviews.

And it seems BFG Ko3s are only available in load E in 285/75/17 size...

Lots of options and perhaps these reviews might help point you the right way.

Look into Kenda tires, I’ve had two sets on two different vehicles and have had many friends / customers switch to them also. I run the Klever R/T year round in Colorado / Utah-MOAB

Thank you both. Upon checking with Discount Tire, it seems out of those in videos and Kendas, only the following three come in size 285/75/17 in C load rating.

Looks like my options are:

Toyo Open Country AT3
Nitto Ridge Grappler
Falken Wildpeak AT4W

Am I blind or is the database dead? I a curious what the biggest tire I can run on the stock 18's with an OME nitro lift, should be 1.5 inch on front maybe an inch on back (yet to install). Sorry for my ignorance.

My understanding is on Toyota IFS, lift makes no difference in the tire you can fit. The latter depends on how much cutting you want to do. If none, then 285/65/18 or 275/70/18 are your two options. Anything bigger, and could involve a bit of massaging, cutting, bending, etc.

Looking to downsize to 285/70r17, from a 285/75 tire, but I'm worried it might look weird with my 2.5-3" lift. Does anyone have any pictures of a 2.5+ inch lift with 285/70 tires? I'd like to know if the smaller tire will look too scrawny while I look into a smaller lift. thanks!

Did you mean 285/65R17?

Curious why you're downsizing from a 285/70R17 (32.7") diameter? Which is such a great balanced size with mild tire lift.

If I could recommend, you might be better off reducing your suspension lift to 2" if you have that adjustability. It'll make a huge difference in drivability while keeping the goodness of the 285/70?

i'm currently in a 285/75/17 tire and looking to potentially switch into 285/70/17s. I agree, I think the 285/70 would be perfect for my uses (mostly daily driver).

Curious on why you're thinking of making the change? Im looking to do somewhat the opposite switch.

it's more of road-manners thing. A slightly smaller and lighter tire that doesn't end up looking too scrawny with a lift would probably feel a little more nimble on highway and around town, not to mention the minimal bump in mpgs. What size lift do you have?

Ok, thank you. I currently have 1.75" front and 1" rear. Will likely keep it even with 285/75/17's, to maximize down travel. You will be fine and it won't look scrawny.
