Alright boys, I settled on getting Falken AT4Ws for my new tires, just need help with the sizing. I have the BBS heritage rims, and I am running the OEM strut spacer. Everything else is stock. I want to run SL rated tires since I don't tow and want to keep things as smooth and quiet as possible since I drive on the road most the time. Should I opt for: 1) 265/70R18 2) 275/65R18 or 3) 285/65R18. I would prefer to avoid any cutting/massaging of fenders but would love to hear people's thoughts, as I'm an idiot. Thanks

Offset of wheels? Outer tire diameter?

Cool. Any tips or recommendations on what size i should go with? I was debating between the 265/70 and the 285/65 since they are a bit larger diameter and figured they would fill out the wheel well better and have some extra sidewall

265mm is too narrow for a 200, IMO.

My presence is more sidewall and less offset, but if you already have the rims… I assume the all terrains are for off-roading, which they do well.

265/70/18 is great because it’s a very available tire that is OEM on many vehicles. Also overseas 200 series came stock with tires as thin as 245mm so 265mm is fine.

What are you goals?

IMO, 1 and 2 are going to come with compromises

Yeah, but on entry level de-contented trims. With low end low power drivetrains.

How this represents an "upgrade" baffles me. Better off leaving it stock.

to answer your question, go with number 3.
For a better option, go with Terra grappler G3’s in 275/70r18. They’re an SL rated tire, 3 peak rated, and will give you about 2 more inches of sidewall over the stock 285/60s.

FWIW I have the same wheels (TRD Pro BBS vs Heritage) mounted with 275/70 coopers and on stock suspension I am clearing all stock plastics, even the drivers side KDSS bar. (Was barely kissing it at full lock before the alignment).

As @TeCKis300 has stated in other threads, the 285/65R18 will give you a slightly larger contact patch. I'm running that size in Michelin's and they are a hair under 33".

HTH.

I’m missing the link to the Google sheet. Didn’t it used to be on the first page? Is it buried somewhere else in this thread now?

Anyone with a LX have the Evo Corse Dakar Zeros? Im looking at the 18”x8.5”, ET:45 set in anthracite. Wondering if anyone has info such as using a specific tire size to prevent rubbing, and do they bolt on with no issues? Looks like I’d have to buy lugs from them as well. On my 2010 I just sold I was using 18” TRD pro with ET:60 and no issues there. I don’t think it would be wise to run one of those as a spare since the offset is different so I’d probably have to buy five. Still cheaper than the BBS Toyota pro wheels.

You’re good to go. Throw on a set if 275/70/18s!

Alright here is my two cents for those looking at larger tires. Definitive proof that with factory offsets a 34.1" true size tire is possible and will not rub at all.

I had a set of 2015 LX570, 20 inch wheels. The rim is 8.5 inches wide with a +45mm offset. I took off the mudflaps and I am pretty sure I didn't need to. The tires are Bridgestone Dueler A/T 275/65r20, with a 34.1 inch diameter.
The spacing between the tire and upper control arm is more than 10mm. So I could have gone with a 285 - 295 easily. The spacing between the tire and the inner fender rear is about 5/8 of an inch at it's closest. Tires do not rub at all, lock to lock. Also fits in spare area nicely.
Lift is irrelevant to fit as, the closest part of the fender is at near center of wheel. Having said that, the lift is Dobinsons MRR, 2.5" in front and 3" in back. Tires actually look like factory. In fact, they fit so well, that I had to double check to make sure they didn't accidentally install 275/60's.

Did you end up going 285/65? If so, post the pics as I've got the same setup as you and want MOOOAAARRRR BEEEEF!

edit: I cannot currently open the google drive link as I'm behind a firewall that I cannot avoid for now.
