Well, just getting home from one fantastic day. Days like today are the best when you build Cruisers for a living. So rewarding and enjoyable! 
It fits so well and looks oh so good.
So the trans hump and it’s shifter holes are different auto FZJ80 to manual HDJ80. Since we have a donor HDJ80 we cut the trans hump out of the donor and will be welding it in Johns truck. How filthy is this though!?
We also have got to deal with frame side trans crossmember mounts because the H152 puts the crossmember farther forward than a 343.
Other than that, plug and play. The FTE dropped right down on the FZJ engine mounts no probs. Can’t wait to get the new tcase and bolt it up as well and then mount all this in the chassis for good.

@lp2k so the original 1FZ went to @Godwin.Looking good @jmlockwood and @SNLC . So what happened to the other Diesel engines and this truck stock oem 1fzfe?
As of now I have a brand new FTE short block and the other bits and pieces to build a new mechanical injection FT. I was going to have @SNLC install this setup in this truck but since all the bits and pieces have not arrived it would be better to just go with the FTE in this truck. Plus, it was looking like the FTE was not going into the tan 79 series due to another truck’s existence
I’ve got the engine out of the HDJ80 and whatever ails it.
And then there is the original FT that we recently discovered was bad.
That’s a long way of saying I still have all of that stuff but I’m not sure what is happening with it.
My billfold is hemorrhaging just looking at that.

@jmlockwood Just read through your whole build thread and I am so amazed/in awe by the progress and attention to detail on your 80. Just incredible.
I sold my '82 BJ42 5+ years ago and haven't been on Mud since really. I got a '94 FZJ80 2 years ago. Finally back in a Land Cruiser; so happy. I've been lurking again on Mud a couple days ago and found your build thread yesterday. I had to dust off my old account and recover/reset my password so I could write this response on your build thread. Your 80 build is just so awesome that I wanted you to know that I appreciate the quality/time/money your putting towards it! I very much look forward to the future updates/progress. An 1HD and 5 speed swap is my dream for my 80 one day!
