All rivers and streams are cranking. Won’t be fording any of the bigger ones for awhile. 6,500+ft there is still a ton of snow, can’t access any trails above that yet. Be at least a few more weeks if not a month. Lot’s of timber down on the trails. I was the first truck on a lot of the trails I ran for this year.

Cheers

It’s about 75 miles on gravel roads once you leave pavement to get down to the trail heads I hit. I run that road about 60mph on average. Usually that is super dusty, it was going down. It rained hard and even hailed a little Saturday night, than rained a lot more Sunday morning. The gravel road turned sloppy for 30+ miles.

Just took me close to an hour at the car wash. 🙄

Still dirty inside. The trail system down there is vast but I would say mostly used by side by sides or ATVs. I have seen some 4wd groups on the trails but it seems most if any don’t do trail maintenance. So next time I go down I plan to clear/clean them up a bit because if cut back pinstripes won’t be nearly as bad as it is now.

bathtubs?

Yup when it’s to hot or no good way to make a pool people haul bathtubs out to the hot springs. For to hot it allows you to regulate the temps.

I just swim in the river where the 120+* water meets the river.

Cheers

Did 100 miles yesterday on dirt roads up through the mountains. Lunch on the BBQ next to the river was nice.

One thing I haven’t mentioned much in this thread, I absolutely dislike my spare tire carrier. No matter how I adjust it it shakes, badly. I am going to re-design it. My shocks are also to short, still running the BP51s, 9” rear and 9.75” front are just to short for 2.5-3” of lift. Need to upgrade pretty bad since I have barely 2” of droop.

Cheers

Looks like an awesome day.

I am seriously considering taking a job in either Twin falls or Rupert.

Any input on those two areas?

I bought this today, more or less on a whim.

Good clean title and rust free so thinking of putting it back on the road vs a parts Cruiser. Was looking at v8’s this evening! 🙄😂

We have a customer scheduled for the lift bay but he has been having issues getting his Cruiser down here. So I am using the bay to get some things whipped out my Cruiser.

About 12,000 miles on the new 1fzfe now. I want to check my head stud torque and valve clearance. I also want to install so new parts that have been laying around for awhile.

ARP head studs? Did any of them feel like they needed to be tightened? Thanks!

Nah, they were all good. I did it for peace of mind and because I have thought of turboing this engine. So just wanted to double check it’s all good. Drop the cams back in tomorrow and check my valves.

What does your intake look like after 12k "new" miles? I got a look in mine after 300 or so and the PCV valve was already making a mess in there; and it's new. I'm seriously considering a bypass oil strainer.

All back together and timing set. It runs sooooooo good and smooth. 🤩

My valves are within spec too. Now onto some other things on the Cruiser. 🤙

Friggin blew a tire off the rim, first time ever for me in decades of wheeling. Late at night on the way in and a bad spot to do it. We got the bead seated though vs a tire change. I was running 14psi which is normal for me.
