danlino,

So, did you buy everything from Marks Offroad directly w/o going through AA? I was under the impression that Marks would prefer us to go through our "local" distributor, such as AA.

No need to go through AA..... the people from Marks4wd are great, it is cheaper, and the shipping is super fast! Got my parts within 5 days, and the cost was not horrible... about $145 for the big box with all the adapters, brakets, and mounts, and $90 for the harness...

I am really curious to see how they made that harness plug and play and interface with the 80. Just a little skeptical on that one.

agreed - I would love to see some pics of the specific connectors that connect to the toyota harness. My guess is that they have the installer remove the toyota ECU, and then plug in the adapter harness.

Is this harness laid out for a LHD truck? I would be worried since its from OZ that its set-up and laid out for the RHD truck. Looks good at any rate.

This is like a good soap opera, we're on pins and needles......

That is probably since Mark actually sold the business and don't own it anymore. When they did they were super conscious of their relationship with AA which I totally understand. There is nothing worse then being a representative for a brand, support it etc etc and then being undersold by the same company.

Sounds like you speak from experience

I sure hope the harness works as expected.

EMERGENCY!

Gentlemen,

My dear friend and mechanic Hoang is closing down his shop... He has some recent serious health issues and he will not be able to complete my project. This is completely unexpected and now I need help.

Here is where I stand:

-6.0 engine, transmission, and ECU are present and ready to go.
-Have the harness, motor mounts, alternator braket, ac compressor braket, Marks4wd transfer case adapter, and shaft.

Need to figure out who could put it together for me ASAP.

Please message me your quotes.

I bought everything necessary to make the project easy to out together.

I am b@^% $ deep on this and need to get it done before my wife claims my manhood...

Any helpful comments will be greatly appreciated.

I can also offer my Toyota 4.0 engine and transmission as a partial payment.

Thank you!

Is your motor pulled yet? Good thing you didn't pay him! Or shall I say hopefully you didnt ... Pm me if your still interested in getting the swap done. Sorry to hear about your situation...

I think George @ Valley Hybrids is in your area, he has done quite a few V8 LC swaps.

Good luck, would hate to be in that position.

I am looking at spending about 6 to 7k on all parts and labor was worked out with my mechanic and good friend Hoang... He normally charges 5 to 7k for this swaps (depending on what else you need or want)... This is about the cheapest you could find in Southern California. I called three other places that ranged between 17k to 40k... Everything for about 12k and done right. I found another guy that is in youtube and he does the work on his garage, he would charge me about 9k for everything, but he is located in Tucson... and there is really no warranty on anything as you could imagine... even if there was, he is in AZ... however, he was very helpful with the list of parts needed...

Just read through your thread and came across something you stated. I don't ever mentioning to you in our discussion there was no warranty on craftsmanship? Though I am glad I could provide your needed parts list for you ;). Again sorry to hear about your buddies hardship...

Ouch.

And people really pay $12,000-$16,000 or more for a engine swap? Holy hell, I'm in the wrong business.
