The one in the previous photo weighs about 5-7 pounds while the one that Rob is fabricating (1/4" steel plating) weights roughly 50 lbs. It's fairly substantial.

It's being painted and the logos are being added today or tomorrow. The transfer case skid plate is next in the lineup. Hopefully I'll have photos in a few days.

The skid plate for the transfer case as well as the engine oil pan is next in the lineup.

Now, I must ask: a skid plate for the 1HZ oil pan? That sucker is high up there tucked in very well. If you are wheeling hard enough to damage the engine oil pan, you are wheeling the wrong vehicle.

You didn't even mention how dangerous those "old folks" scooters are.
I don't think @cruiserdan is going to drive all the way from SLC to po-dunk Georgia or some other hell hole in the south to save Charles.

I don't know about Georgia, but Washington state / Seattle schools in the 50s and 60s were staffed by caring, committed and capable men and women. Lots of them were WWII and Korea vets who got a degree via GI Bill and shared what they knew with spoiled Baby Boomers like me.

My Cruiser is still incapacitated while Rob installs the new skid plates but it's been a very good week for my Cruiser garage. Thanks to @divemedic I now have my first Asian automobile license plate. While I truly appreciate every tag I receive from 'MUD members this particular one has special meaning to me because I lived in Okinawa as a child.
