The one in the previous photo weighs about 5-7 pounds while the one that Rob is fabricating (1/4" steel plating) weights roughly 50 lbs. It's fairly substantial. :)

It's being painted and the logos are being added today or tomorrow. The transfer case skid plate is next in the lineup. Hopefully I'll have photos in a few days.

Factory (Plastic) vs 1/4" steel plating. :)

The skid plate for the transfer case as well as the engine oil pan is next in the lineup.

You get a shopping cart wedged up there and see what happens.....

Well at least one person understands the challenges I face.
You didn't even mention how dangerous those "old folks" scooters are.

To be fair, a puncture of the oil pan could be precipitated by catastrophic failure of the front drive shaft. That skid could mean the difference of limping home or phone a friend.

Well we almost got through one complete page before we went from the informational phase to the personal insult phase. Not bad I guess and I can't say I'm surprised. Hopefully we can now return to the subject.

Thanks, Ward. :)
Don't thank me, thank your teachers and government funded public education.

I don't know about Georgia, but Washington state / Seattle schools in the 50s and 60s were staffed by caring, committed and capable men and women. Lots of them were WWII and Korea vets who got a degree via GI Bill and shared what they knew with spoiled Baby Boomers like me.

OK, hijack ended.....

Caution.... No Tech Content

My Cruiser is still incapacitated while Rob installs the new skid plates but it's been a very good week for my Cruiser garage. Thanks to @divemedic I now have my first Asian automobile license plate. While I truly appreciate every tag I receive from 'MUD members this particular one has special meaning to me because I lived in Okinawa as a child.
