Photo - April 2014 on the Kokopelli Trail during Cruise Moab. The roo bar has been replaced by a fitted ARB bumper. La Sal Mountains in the background.

For sale is my 1989 (12/1988) BJ-74. I took delivery in March of 2013 and have wheeled it in KY, TN, AL, AR, MO, CO and UT. Nothing crazy but this truck has seen trails and it does very well!

It has the 13BT 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine, automatic transmission, cable lockers, two tops and two sets of rear doors (full and half), a PTO winch and a fitted ARB front bumper. It has 285/75/16 BFG ATs on 80 Series rims with 1" OPOR spacers. A PO added a EFS Suspension (Australian). It has @128,300 miles (206,500km). It is a JDM model I imported from Brisbane, Australia.

I am in the process of cleaning it now and will post additional photos of as I take them.

Rust. The windshield frame is rusty on the bottom where it meets the weatherstripping and there are two small spots on each corner of the cowl.

I am listing it now, with an incomplete ad, as I expect it will take some time to sell.

Asking price is $15,500.00 OBO. I can keep the soft top and half rear doors and reduce the price if that suits the buyer. I will be keeping the rear bumper, sliders, and other small parts for a future build.

Pease call at 859-two five five-2307 or e-mail at peblaw@yahoo dot com with questions or to set up a test drive.

Thank you for your interest!
Peter

Looks like a stock oem HZJ7x box to me.

I found a front knuckle rebuild kit, with Koyo bearings, I purchased from Cruiser Outfitters. I have not needed it but wanted to have it on hand. It will go with the truck.

I think people are interested to watch price drops. imho- this is priced where 5speeds are from many of the importers(landcruisersdirect, etc). I would imagine theres a $2-3k+ sub premium to get someone to choose an auto over 5 speed all things being equal. Also you have been fighting a 25% canadian and Aussie dollar discount. and the plethora of hz versions popping up which has some cache and are more commonly 5spd optioned.

I've scored some deals on ebay by contacting the seller, and then "placing" without winning and then making a side deal. The never ending welshers seem to depress the sellers.

I think a no reserve on BaT, with a bit of pimping here and expo, on the other hand would likely end your pain at a fair price for you. Wanna feel bad? There's a rangie classic POS on right now. Its up to 27. Gross, eh?

I sense you're trying to make a point here but I'll be damned if I can figure what that point may be.

A triple post? Lol.

One day left. It's like a super bump.

Other than that, Ebay is like Mud classifieds. Everyone is tire kicking and looking for a smoking deal.

I would have lifted the reserve and i think the bidding would have gone to $12k which seems about fair value for the autos out of canada and aus. where the dollar gets you a 25% price drop.

I think there would be a bunch of mudders showing interest if it were priced within $2-3k of ebay prices. I think most mudders would be glad to pay a $2-3k premium ($13-14k ) knowing its come from a mudder who has looked it over and fawned over it.
