"but will it go boom"..... (he asks the guy with a blown apart 1hdt, @gonzopancho), maths said it wouldnt 😅

made a quick run out to lake to sit and relax last night.

It had the makings of a horror movie. 😂 sitting watching a huge thunderhead build up while all was serene and calm.

The seagulls making annoying noises, birds chirping then eerie silence.

out of nowhere a faint rushing sound growing louder and louder seemingly coming at us.

What is that sound? I ask standing up and walking towards the lake.

It took 5 seconds for that to roll across the lake then…haboob!

😂 dropping keys, loading up trying to drive away…I would have been the cow in the twister movie. Thankfully just sandblasted like crazy.

Anyways, before sandstorm hit it was fantastic.

I also haven’t forgot about my intercooling possibilities…more to come.

Just out exploring a little. With pretty much all areas around here struggling with high heat and drought, the lake is being drained like crazy.

The lake is at 20% capacity which kinda sucks but lots of sand and a few surprises.

The town of Lemoyne was right on the North Platte river, but in the late 1930s they made a plan to dam the river and make a large reservoir to supports crops/farming in the area. By 1940 the original town was 50’ under water and occasionally when the water drops you can still find remnants from the town. Foundations, tools, plates etc.

And as usual on sand, someone got stuck. 😂

Apparently he was trying to deliver chairs to a wedding on the beach…in a 2wd truck. Buried to the axle. 70 series and winch to the rescue.
3 times I had to pull him out before I hopped in and drove to hard ground. Bro was using the gas as an on/off switch…fully pegged or none.

My son was helping and getting some sand rescue training. I think he stated to finally understand the coolness of the 70 series.

The small tech. Finally wired the fridge to the deck connected. Cold non-melted ice on a 95 degree day? Yep.

And of course the pose.

I can’t see past the crooked front license plate. 😁

Very cool pictures

Pulled my front cyclops…it was an old light, hazy and you couldn’t do much with it. I’m thinking about a small led bar right above the license plate to keep the airflow open to the radiator.

Looks quite a bit cleaner.

I think after a lot of research and looking around, I’m just going to go front mount air intercooler. It’s a bit more work but will Probabaly work the best.

I do have one lined up, it will just take a little bit to get it.

Turtle wax and a drill will clean up that hazed light cover

It’s on the inside. I would have to disassemble the light bucket which Probabaly won’t go too well on this old light.

I’ll need some more air flow in front for the FMIC so a light bar on the space below seems best fit.

However…looking at light bar prices…jeez!

get a cheapo, theyre just fine, and i find the cubes make the same if not more light than the bars for some reason, and you can mount them under or in front of the bumper

That’s what I was wondering. The LED world seems rife with ridiculous numbers that don’t really translate in real world.

Someone needs to stop me before I screw a giant autozone light bar to my hood 😂

There are some decent looking cubes for not bad so hopefully one will fit.

Two....get two cubes for gods sake

So the night before @theglobb came to visit, we had ourselves a storm out at the lake. His timing was just right.

Honestly the worst part was everyone just leaving their trash. Pack it out! You can see all the EZ up/EZ gone tents in the distance. They are all over and just left here.

Since this was the last weekend for people coming here, it slows way down, the community will spend a weekend out picking up all the crap people left.
