So I went on a work trip to Arizona last week. But of course the night before I left our sienna started missing so I had to
Fix that so I could get dropped off at the airport.

Ended up being a coil pack. In the country all I had was an O’Reilly version and we needed to leave in less than 10 hours. 10 mins and sienna is back. 237,000 and 1 coil failed. I’ll take it.

Landed in Phoenix, got a rental car, someone took the fancy camry so I got a hyaundai Sonota that apparently thinks it needs to correct my steering and “lane assistance”. Took me way too long to figure out it wasn’t crazy understeer or suspension issues 😂

Drove from Phoenix to Page. Page to Payson and back to Phoenix. I saw zero “real” 😂 Land Cruisers.

A nice GX tour rig in Page.

2, 250s and that’s it. I saw 7 vintage rovers in different spots but zero cruisers. What the heck!?? Where are my cruiser people in Colorado, Arizona and Nebraska???

You know what automotive group showed out more than the Cruiser community??? Planters F’n Peanuts! Ih8mud do better!! 😂

I wonder if the folks with peanut allergies run when they see that coming down the road?

You down there in Page investigating Hayduke and the Monkey Wrench Gang? I guess all the land cruisers in Arizona are in the south, in Sonoita, with @OGBeno and OLC4x4. But man, that peanut rig would be a sweet overlander.

In other non-tech news. Just a parent brag as my son won state championship in the high jump. He hasn’t jumped in 2 years before this but ended up winning state. He qualified for state ranked 7th out of the 18 (edit) jumpers.

The weather was cold, rainy and windy. He had also driven 5 hours from the other side of the state the day before, across a time zone to jump at 9:30am. A bigger side note, he injured his knee the Saturday before at club basketball and wasn’t even sure he would be able to jump. He didn’t practice the whole week. Not 1 jump, just rest, ice, ultrasound and roll out. Wasn’t even sure he could go until they started warm up jumping.

He ended up pulling it off. Great end to the year for a great kid. After he said, “I’m ready to go fishing”

@mtn biker put together a great cruiser calendar!

Jumping ahead, it’s my annual keep my non working AC or put in an intercooler. I’ve not had a working a/c system in 6 years.

If I were to refresh it, I’m guessing it needs a new compressor (seized), drier, expansion valve and condenser.

Not sure how much that is, or how well it actually works on a soft top.

In my truck with its locally made and drafty soft top, the ac still works well. The old school shop that revived the system 10 years ago filled it with reclaimed Freon since that’s what it was designed for.

It it is R12 Freon you won't be able to find any, even R134 is getting to be phased out.

Who's the centerfold?👀

So another day, so much more tech!

Speaking of AC, I found this in my owners manual, the AC install date. Again this is an 11/88 build date BJ74 and A/C was installed in October of 91, 10 months and 6000kms after purchase in Feb of 91.

And of course, we are getting massive wind storm/bursts that hit our place….

2 trees got taken out.

I was excited to use my cruiser, chainsaw and winch

But…my friendly neighbor and her big dumb tractor came over and started doing it quicker! The nerve.

IMG_4935.webp

She cleared the way but I have plenty of time for sunset chainsaw cruiser winch photos to clean the rest up.

nice!
Who's the centerfold?👀
It isn't that type of calendar, but it will get us cruiser heads a little excited. I don't have the calendar right next to me but I believe that @cbmontgo camping in project Pikacho is the centerfold

@FJBen ….. I fixed the photo for you. 😁

I just checked and everyone that is interested in this thread would like the centerfold. The only other 70 series in the calendar John Watson @Bogan

Another first for me yesterday.

Cruisin’ down the street in my 6….er 74. (Any OGs know that one?)

Anyways I hear this huge train blast as I was slowing down to turn off the highway onto our road. I look over and the train conductor has his arm out the window, thumbs up and hitting the horn.
Hell yeah indeed brother…

Popped the hood for my coolant drip check.

IMG_4969.webp

How long has that screwdriver been there? A 10mm Id not be surprised about…but a screwdriver?

I need to order up some good hose clamps. I’ve replaced most with factory style but not all. Not surprisingly, the 3 left on the engine always loosen up after short drives. I’m pretty confident most of my strange drips/leaks I was having with coolant was due to the clamps backing of.

A couple of them show NLA, so I Probabaly just need to measure an see what I can find.

Finally go my extra top moved here.

IMG_4947.webp

And promptly forgot to grab the hinges that are 2.5 hours away…eventually I’ll get back working on that.

Proof not all my photos are sunsets.

IMG_4952.webp

Oh and pot of gold or box of rust?

...Jockin' the bitches, slappin' the hoes

And on your cruiser's in Az note. I was recently in Oro Valley (a bit north of Tucson) for a few weeks visiting in-laws, and this is the only cruiser I saw. Almost flipped around and followed him. RHD 76 series I think.
