An amazing product.
A friend has an old aluminum John boat that was leaking from numerous pin holes. Two coats of POR15 and the old boat is good to go. :)

hummm, sorry, POR15 has its applications but over steel i don't recommend it. does look nice when first applied.
glad to hear your rocket is working well and you be a happy boy.

The shop has been using it on frames for quite a while and the earlier projects are still holding up well. I'm not sure how the metal was prepped but to date there has been no issues with the product or the results.

I too have had good luck with the POR15 product line. The key is to overcoat the POR15 rust inhibitor with a UV stable topcoat. I have used their Chassis Black with good results in the past

the problem isn't the paint. the stuff is tough.
it is the prep of the frame, the ability to repair when the rust starts to show.
the top coat is a necessity or it starts to "powder" fade in the sun.
i do not like anything you can not see what is happening underneath. this stuff, just like bed liner looks great on a short term ride but you can not see any rusting till your foot goes through the floor.

good old fashioned high quality paint is still the best option.

I saw the frame before it was coated and it was clean enough to eat off of so hopefully the POR15's rust preventative formula will work its magic and rust won't be a factor in the future. Fortunately the frame (pictured above) only had surface rust in the first place and was otherwise in good shape. At some point in the future I may have the body lifted on my HJ75 and have the product applied to the frame.

While it's not the centerfold of Playboy Magazine, my ole Cruiser is none the less in a magazine. :)

It was pointed out by some that my Intercooler design / location would be prone to grass seeds and other debris. The word "idiot" was occasionally used. : )
