Thanks!Take about 1.5" off that upper radiator hose at the thermostat to make the bend proper. Get some stock wire clamps while you're at it. And if I remember correctly, the stock coolant bottles are still available. Looks like a pretty clean desmog.
Welcome to MUD.

I added them, because I didn’t like the holes in the bumpers. 100% US vehicle. It’s been in Florida its entire life. Those rubber bumpers are usually on imports from somewhere. Are you sure it is USA spec ?

I have a Clarity ? AC in my 83 and the compressor looks identical to FJ40 Tom's and is mounted in the same location. Maybe a dealer thing? My truck was originally purchased in San Antonio, Tx.
This is correct. My FJ40 came with factory AC. Special passenger side motor mount and Denso compressor sits below alt.To my knowledge the factory installed A/C compressor mounted below the alternator on the right side. The front right motor mount that bolts to the block is different when factory air was installed. It helps cradle the compressor.
Likely dealer added ac wasn’t the same as factory installed. To my knowledge the factory installed A/C compressor mounted below the alternator on the right side. The front right motor mount that bolts to the block is different when factory air was installed. It helps cradle the compressor.

My a/c is after market, Vintage Air. The previous owner removed a majority of the parts for the a/c and I found it extremely difficult if not impossible to source the correct parts, so I did an upgrade. When I seen the bumper pads I thought the same thing. Lack of a heater blower helped. Air cleaner convinced it wasn't an import. No reason to down grade to a smog style air cleaner with no emissions. Also that is not the correct location for factory air conditioning compressor. Those mount low by the motor mounts.
