I’m selling a 1980 FJ40, imported from South America. It’s foreign specs, metric. It’s partially renovated, frame off. New Weber carb, new tires, new battery. Probably needs a new alternator (engine doesn’t stay running and idles really low) and a tune up. Mostly stock parts. No rust issues. I don’t have the know how to keep this truck going. Asking 22k, but will other offers.

Good looking truck. GLWS. Drums can be easily swapped for discs.

The frame number matches but is almost too faded to see in the picture. Where would I find the compression numbers?
By doing a compression test on the cylinders.
Seeing as it won't run, compression numbers i.e. psi of what each cylinder will hold are an indicator of the health of the engine and could encourage a potential buyer to be more confident in buying it.

Ahh, I see. Car runs, but I think the alternator needs changing as it doesn’t hold the charge, it idles really low, and it’ll die out after a while. I had it sitting in a storage container for almost 5 years. I think not running it consistently over that time probably wasn’t the best for it.
