Someone asked the PN on the water pump.

Lots of progress in 10 hours today but I still have a ton of stuff to do. Great day seeing the engine bay come together like this.

They take time, but your progress has been quite impressive sir. Enjoying following along👍

@wngrog save some coolness for the rest of us, you're making us mortals look bad.

Hope you give a full report on how it runs with Sniper compared to Aisan OEM carb? Also I like the OEM look of it with the spacer so you can run the stock intake/air cleaner. Redline make that? Sweet👍

I have two Snipers on my personal cruisers and I also have a beautifully tuned JimC carb on one of my Cruisers.

As great as the perfect carb is, no complaints, there is no comparison at all. The Sniper is the winner in every aspect.

Yes, Redline as well as Mosley Motors sell Sniper to OEM air cleaner adapters

Did you go with their intank fuel pump? Did you make those fuel lines all the way to the tank? lookin good!

I do have the Redline in tank pump. I’ve not tackled that job yet.
The hard lines dump out at the frame. You can use the factory hard lines but I’m using all 3/8” EFI grade rubber hose to and from the tank on this truck

Also wondering if with the Sniper you run idle at 650 like stock?

Any tricks for making the hot air intake valve on the air cleaner open and close like it was new?
I’ve never seen the need. These EFIs seem to crank fast and warm up quick. I’ve done as cold as the upper teens and no issues.

You set whatever idle you prefer in the startup menu. I run 700 on all mine.

once you set the timing, you make sure your throttle position sensor is adjusted per the manual.

many people start turning the TPS screw thinking is the idle screw like on a Aisin and get their stuff all messed up

So I’m flying back from the 49ers game and texting w @Onur about some parts for the Mustard 40. As I’m getting off the plane in ATL, Onur texts and says “got a few seconds to chat? I just landed in ATL.”

What a crazy small world. We chatted Land Cruisers over some sushi before I had to leave for TLH.

Serendipity and small world indeed, John.

Great to see you and talk Land Cruisers.

After all, sushi is good and all, but kinship over these vehicles are even better.

Adieu.
Onur

You know what happens every time you have a great day in the shop and are just swelling with pride right?

The Cruiser gods kick you square in the nuts.

I started early this morning trying to figure out how the Redline throttle cable brackets work.

I was testing the amount of throttle I had first to see how my re-bent accelerator pedal was working and I could not get the throttle body to open up.

I peeked inside and the butterflies were hitting the gasket.

Holy hell, Redline puts their logo on both sides of the adapter and I had installed it 180* out.

FYI if anyone gets this adapter. Easily done if you are not familiar

Backwards above. The long legs go forward.

This is what it looked like. Dammit.

Got that sorted and then monkeyed with the cable brackets way too long. Had to take off and install multiple times to open up the holes properly. Open the cable hole. Finally got it all mocked up and the cable is about 20” too long. Once I got it on I realize the angle I rebent the pedal too will only get me 50% pedal. Also, the brake sensor is in the way. I gave up for the day on that because I was not having fun. I’ll attack later.

Pics of the brackets as I could not find one of the intake piece anywhere in his pics

This setup pulls from the rear which is how the TB is designed. I’ve always pulled from the front and I’m likely to toss all this and go that way.

On a positive note I got everything wired in nicely except the fuel pump which I don’t even have the parts for yet.

Light relay. Main power. Sniper.

These auto parts store pigtails are nice for the power and tach plugs. Makes it easy to remove and install.
