This is a new one for me......

Has anyone had this issue in the past?

Ignition wants to fire prematurely mid sweep

Yes, mine does that same thing, it won't start while it cranks mid sweep though.

I've just never bothered to do any troubleshooting on it to save that problem. My guess is that a contact in the ignition switch is shorting out when is shouldn't.

I can’t leave it like this, Lockwood would run over someone and I’d feel bad.

I fully expect it to become a problem one day, whether it's just not starting somewhere off of the beaten path or burning down my rig, sooner or later it'll bite me right square in the ass.

Hello Nolen ,

i watched and examined in detail your TECH. based Video , 3 times in a row ,

and without a shadow of a doubt , that is the electrical portion of the ignition

switch has failed internally , they are much like your old ROTATORY head lights

switch , that i now keep preserved for you in a 100% Inert atmosphere

MINI - Chamber
they now offer on AMAZON........ 😇

this can be some what dangerous if your driving at slower speeds say on a bumpy windy road and your starter suddenly engages , well lets just say the
2F wins every time .........

i have Personally NEVER seen a CB40M or CB40F Live in action , on video or in person , so it should make for some good phun , after you see it happen for the first time too ............:D

anyway , let me know how i can help with your ignition switch issues , i will

as always in any way i can

kindly matt

also , it appeared your ignition key will simply Pull out at any of the positions other then Off where it should of course ...........?

this bad too ,

sometimes Cutting a New OEM TOYOTA Key By the code on my SST machine

solves that problem , other times the lock cylinder is so far gone and smoked

only a New OEM replacement will solve that issue properly .......

I really like your use of a TECH based You TUBE Video , it saved a Thousand words of key punch text type , all in under 1 Metric Minute

i wish more members followed suit , MUD would be a
Killer Kool better place :smokin:

I have applied this same philosophy in the general classifieds , any time i offer

a Working Factory TOYOTA Radio , and will indeed , also make a Real Time

Live one , when i list a Working and totally Functional CB40M , i have restored

in the coming week
, I plan to Raise a Trucker / Truck driver Live and Get my 420

from him ...........

i have erected a nice CB antenna areal on side of my shop , where my FM/AM test Antenna also is mounted , and the Coax cables feed through my office wall to my working desk top

insane nothing !

the Video is really a awesome Example of a better modern year 2020 way to

describe a issue or symptom one has that needs a 2nd or 3rd opinion on ....!

Good Show ....

fyi:
if your order or need the ignition lock cylinder itself also , remember to identify

weather you have a locking or non-locking steering column , i can also re-key it

to match your side doors and fuel door too if need be .......

i think this is the Link to ALL my you tube shop Videos i have made regarding

bench testing LIVE Vintage toyota parts ............

this should be #1 of 13 total , and they play in cronilogical order too i think ,

so you will see as i learn and understand YouTube , they get a bit better each

Rodeo ..........

Wait, you mean my key isn't removable whe the rig is running?

Your posts are like ransom notes pasted from newspapers and magazines.

Thats Extreemly Professional play by play commentary coming from

one of Brian's Entrusted " Moderators " ONUR

I don't see any other " Moderators " out in the public viewing portion of the

Forum MOCKING the General Membership , let alone a
SUPPORTING

VENDOR ,
whom was taking time out of His business day , in a Good Will

Gesture effort to Help Diagnose a fellow members bad Ignition key switch ,

after being paged by that member to do exactly that ........

The core principle of your acquired Title is that your supposed to lead by

example ?

i wonder what your Fellow Moderators would think if they saw you placing

LIKES on comments in a post meant to insult another member ?

What a ZERO Show ..........

Easy killer. Moderators are allowed to laugh.

They do have to give back a weeks pay if they pee their pants though.
