Mud is going to be so dead this weekend while Nolen basically assembles the truck.
it’s like building a house. It looks almost done when the framers leave. Still so many goodies still in boxes ….

Some OEM gold on the way for Mustard.

One of the goodies we’ve had for a while is the @Racer65 City Racer electric power steering. This was the main driver behind getting the new old stock steering box. Normally I rip all this stuff out for a Saginaw but I really thought Mustard was a perfect fit for this system. I have everything mocked up and once the big box O Beno arrives I’ll be able to put it all together in the truck.

The directions get a little unclear at this point but I think I’ve got it all figured out. Now to clean up that area real good before I reinstall

I installed an electric PS unit from @Racer65 back when he first started carrying it. I believe the pictures on his site were the ones I took during the install. :)

With you getting all the connections nice and new / tight, I think you will love it.

I really found the adjustability a great feature. I normally ran mine close to minimum.

Also a quick tip / option for the controller. I placed mine on the unused emissions "computer" taking out its guts and replacing. A perfect fit!

I peeled this dinosaur off the firewall and what looked like a pretty old clutch master.

The firewall has some paint gone from past leaks but I got in there real good and scrubbed everything down with CLR and got a good shine

I treated the bare metal with some Penetrol and it won’t ever rust again

When I was last at Mosley Motors I repo’ed the City Racer booster and non ABS master box that was removed for the hydro boost setup. It and a new Aisin clutch master and this little corner of the bay is clean

Put the bumper supports and wings back on …. No bumper for now until I stuff the motor.

I dug out a couple of my favorite style hooks and had them powdered since this truck did not have any and damn if one is the wrong size. If anyone has one of the smaller style in their stash message me. Not the smooth hooks….I got those. Needs the hook

Who is TMR?

Today’s project is to baseline the floors for lizard skin. I’ll keep it on the flat spots so when the seats and mats go back in you won’t know it’s there.

First step. Remove the OEM goop

Also fixed the little bit of floor rust with JB weld and drilled out the broken tranny hump bolts for rivnuts

Wash. Rubbing alcohol scrub then a healthy dose of rust converter on the bad spots.

Fill all the holes with old bolts. I chased all the chipping bed liner back with a razor

Tape and mask. Gonna lay it on. Bye bye school bus yellow bed liner.

After putting out a call for a tranny hump Joe at JTOutfitters kindly sent out a fiberglass hump for me to have if the metal one cannot be found. It’s really really well built and will be a great option if we can’t get metal (I think we have metal found)

This thing fits great and all the proper holes are ready to cut.

Nice to know innovation is still out there with our cruiser parts suppliers
