Found an early 2F valve cover in the stash.

It doesnt have the bosses on the right side for the oil cooler hard coolant line.

And then the transmission fell out of it.
I have the original transmission and transfer to my 75 cleaned up.
Ill replace a gaskets and seals on them then throw it in place after I get the clutch done.

I liked that bumper ... at some point through the years I even saved a picture of it. This the same truck?

that's nearly a 20 year old pic.

sorta the same truck.
frame
short block
front axle
front&rear prop shafts
bezel
aprons
doors(which came from a parts '75)
maybe a few of the switches and pull cables

that bumper is taking up space in the shop at teh moment.

trans gears are more beat than i'd like, but i know what the other trans look like.
transfer gears look good, but thats hard to tell in the blurry pic.

and this concludes my experiment with an oil cooled clutch.
the trans input shaft sealing surface is no good.

Hei dissy is outta there.
Non usa with gen 1 pertronix stuff in place.
Replaced all the motor mounts.
Redid the coolant hoses and replaced the 40 odd year old thermosat housings with new oem from city racer. He supplied the hose clamps as well.
Shiny new gates green stripe belt.
Got it run up to temp for the first time with fresh head on.
All in all best day ever.

It ran before but boy does it run now.

I thought it ran pretty good with the old junkyard hei but it turns out the vac advance on it was not working.

almost 4 months after the new tires showed up, i finally got around to doing something with the spare.
the 9.50 didn't fit without spacing it about an inch further away from the plate, so the 10.50 wasn't going on without a fight.
and so once again metal conformed to my will.

in other news, i'm pleased with the new old trans. was a little nervous about the multitude of gear chips, but all is good.
the non usa dissy with a pretronix conversion is as good if not better than the hei.
very pleased with the way the entire package runs and drives these days...doesn't look bad either.

Found some stuff hiding in the garage.
Put a pertronix in the dissy and hosed it off..the old thing cleaned up pretty good.
The coil didnt clean up quite as nice but everything runs as it should.
Getting a little predetonation, will have to look onto that.

It turned out well.
This route has a little more pipe, and seems to have toned it down a bit

spare tire carrier bushings gave up the ghost, so a little something more stout was in order.

i've had the original doors since day one, but early on had i scored a cheap 75 parts rig with good doors...but now i want as many of the "matching" parts on it as i have....these doors are it.
so that makes tub, hood, windshield/frame, front doors/glass and the trans/tranfer from the same cruiser.
the drivers side is clean, the ps not as much.
