brian, wonderful resto! I am not a fan of body filler like you. I would really like to learn more about the lead filling techniques you used. Can you give any links or tips you have learned in your experience with the lead fillers?

Eastwood Company: Search Results for body lead inproducts

they have vids on utube, and the dvd that comes with is pretty good as well.
can't use it to fill holes. works great in junction with glazing puddy. most of them are not pure lead anymore, so they don't work as easy as what the lead did. however it's easier to work after it's on..i.e you can grind and sand with power tools....were as the pure lead you couldn't for health nd well being reasons.

don't know what year the fiberglass cap is from, the rest of the top is off a '70.

this sucked greatly.
going to be looking into 10mm studs.

Pickedup a super clean upper rear door earlier this fall.
Also gathered up some fresh springs, went with 4 inch skyjackers...going to remove the shackle reversal and return to the oem front setup.
Rounding up parts from btb to turn the tailgate panel into a functional tailgate.

whelp, it's locked up for the winter, but so far we really haven't much of a winter, mostly just damp, dreary and rainy.
new rear springs on.
started hacking the shackle reversal off it.

Just finished reading from the beginning. . . Impressed by all the metal work. . . frame, body, custom bumpers, etc.
Also like the fact that you have had time to drive / enjoy your ride as you continue to work on it. I think it keeps one motivated to get back on the road because you know what you are missing! Looking forward to future updates, your work is good inspiration for us going thru the same process.

Passengers side ready for the spring.
Decided that it's getting a new front bumper as well.

I know this is a g rated forum.
But it's time to talk about the birds and the bees and where bumpers come from.

Sometimes you just have to stand back and let nature take it's course..

Very nice work!!

I went through your entire thread. Great in-depth work! Just curious- was the tailgate created by you welding two barn doors? That's what I thought I saw, now at thread's end. Also, was BTB reasonable for all those pieces? I have found them to be $$$ for parts in the past. Even back as far as 1995-96.

There are companies who make actual tailgates or just the block off panel as seen here.

This is an ever evolving project, as funds show up and I find better condition parts things get swapped around....but at this point there isn't much left that needs replaced.
The btb parts are a joke for the price.
The current tailgate fill in panel and the replacement drop down tailgate, both real steel cruiser parts stuff....they are worth the money.

I was gonna say that kinda looks like my old rear hatch. I can't be sure because @shmukster has so many great parts!

can't believe i waited so long for this...drop tailgate awesomeness.
still have to rub some love on the latch catches yet.
