More about the restoration on my IG: @patinacruisers

Arrived 4 Wheel Auto in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada finally in 2021 for a full mechanical restoration and vehicle inspection to officially finally…. be imported into Canada 🇨🇦 and on the road.

Few holes patches in the tub in the rear. This 40 was originally a service vehicle at Edwards Air Force Base. So they had cut 4 holes in the rear floor to mount a tool box to the frame back in the day. Holes files, light box liner applied and then colour/clear.

Frame and drivetrain prep for a nice coat of POR15

$49,990USD Edmonton, AB, Canada

do you have a build thread for this rig? I'm building the exact same powertrain into a 70.

only one question. why sell this beauty. she is perfect.

What a beauty!

Price improvement $62,500usd

Will be coming out of storage soon, hope to add some videos cruising home 70+mph and some photos of the documentation of its days as a Service Vehicle at Edwards Air Force Base.

Too bad with that engine swap it can't be imported to the US. 69 did not have any diesel land cruisers so hard to convince customs it the original engine.

Customs would never know it was an engine swap, they don’t start it or ask or anything. Been through many times and it looks factory. Was also told if they are a certain age that would not matter anyways.

The broker I use has all paperwork complete before you arrive at the crossing, you literally drive up and they scan the paperwork and wave you through. Would take you longer crossing with an RV.

$59,990 USD PRICE DROP!

Price adjustment on this one of a kind nut bolt restoration. Not a bolt on this that hasn't been turned or replaced during the frame off restoration. Everything has been rebuilt, repainted or is brand new. Only thing left untouched is the original paint on the exterior, engine bay, frame, drivetrain, top and interior floor has all been repainted! No better engine for a 40 series than the 12HT!!

What documentation do you have that it spent time at Edwards AFB?

What documentation do you have that it spent time at Edwards AFB?

Verbal story behind it from previous owner. Repaired the two holes in the roof where the lights where and it had 4 1-1.5" diameter holes in the floor where an old through the body to the frame tool box was mounted. I also have an old Edwards Air Force base hand book will some service records written in it. The 40 is in storage but I just sold my restored 4runner so I have room in my garage again to hopefully bring it home late July and can start adding some more photos to this thread. I just checked all my photos and don't have any of the hand book right now unfortunately.

I have history with Edwards AFB too. More pictures will be nice when you get the chance.

That's awesome! I am going to the shop next week so ill take it off the hoist and grab some photos of that book for you. With your back ground at the base and this book, it sure would be cool to add some more context or memorabilia behind the story of this 40 while it was on base!
