A lot of scrubbing and cleaning on the firewall today. Some rust converting as well. Not much to report.

The bulk of the orders for the 45 have started to come in!

Bench tested my blower motor and can get this thing to spin to save my life. Looks like I may be on the hunt for a replacement.

Spent the day rust converting, messing with blower motor, removing broken bolts, and sorting through all my packages for this thing. City Racer, Cruiser outfitters, overland metric, and SOR have been dropping left and right. I have a stack of stuff to get powder coated and hopefully assembly will start next weekend. Here’s a little preview of the NOS glass bowl filter I got from @ToyotaMatt!

I did have some fun getting a frozen broken bolt out of the tow hook that was with this thing. Kroil and a torch didn’t budge it, but I had the solo stove raging this evening so I threw it in there for 45 minutes got it red hot and hammered it out!!!

A little Mosley Motor goodness came in too! Thanks @FJ60Cam

Finally started putting new parts on today. Well what I can while I wait on a few key pieces.

Pulled off the old starter, degreased and clean up what I could before adding a nice layer of fluid film in metal I hope to never see again. While starter was out I installed the rear motor mount. Never hurts to have a little extra room. Got the starter bolted up and new ground cable installed from installed from @Fourrunner. Really great product he has.

Installed a new OEM fuel pump. It’s for later model but snagged my old fittings. Then wrapped it all up by installing some new OEM front shocks. It’s starting to clean up nicely.

Here are some part numbers. Also if you don’t have the Milwaukee stubby impact it’s a game changer!

About 12k newer than my 02/64 motor. Just wondering because mine was odd size (non-metric 7/16”, possibly 11mm dia.), also the water pump bolts. No obvious reason why (e.g. nurserts), I thought they were suppose to be 12mm (?).

So you are correct. I tried the overland metric bolts today and they are a no go for lower Tstat housing. Pulled my existing bolt and ran it through a few dies and it looks to be a 7/16 like you said. I’ll post when I get the right bolt size nailed down.

I am thrilled to see this rig again. I remember looking at it when it was for sale here near Scranton, PA. It was originally used by an old buck to pick coal and I believe it was never even registered b/c he just used it "off road". I remember the gentleman who bought it from him saying he paid more for his gas grill than he did for the truck!!! This was probably about maybe 15 years ago, maybe more??? I looked at it and was amazed at the originality of the truck. I made an offer on it but he said he was putting it on eBay and he'd get back to me. I watched the bidding and knew I wouldn't hear back from him. The bids climbed and were more than I could afford at the time with our daughter being little, another on the way and saving for a house. I later learned that it went to Canada. This is a survivor and best of luck to you. Hope your son enjoys. Mike

Thanks for the information! Its great to hear about the history of this truck. My son loves it no doubt. He is ready to take another ride in it, which will be soon. Thanks again!

Think your confused with another truck, this came from california a few years ago?

I think it was passed around like a cheap hooker 5-6 times in about the same amount of years.

This truck was purchased in PA and imported into Canada for a few years in 2010. Then sold to a guy in Texas, onto Cali after that, then Florida, Alabama, and now Mississippi. Nolen hit it on the head with his statement above.

Deo, bought it out of California, and it has Cali black plates?

He did. @Randy Mugford bought it in PA and imported it into Canada prior to it getting to Cali. This video is when it lived a short life in Canada.
