I'm thinking of using FJ55 belts in my FJ45V. Might run rears in the front also; if i can. Retractable belts in the front might not look right. There's not a lot of room to mount them.

The @JLawson Farm Fresh LV build did a nice job of adding seat belts (and front head rests too!). I'm following his lead on these items. Link to his seat belt details (scroll to bottom of page 12): Farm Fresh LV Seat Belts

Thanks for sharing this. I'm adding 3 point belts to my LV and am looking for pointers.

Awesome dialog on the belts. I will need to come back to that at some point. I am pivoting to the weatherstripping on the doors. I got a great product from a recommendation from this forum and it’s awesome. My question is: has anyone addressed the aluminum trim piece over the pinch welds on the rockers? My original is too tall so currently thinking I should make new ones. But, just curious and if anyone has a better recommendation. No worries

Do you have a picture of the trim piece on your LV before the restoration started?

The exterior color is great. Is that the current Toyota Cement Gray color?

Hello and I will see if I have a pic of it. I don’t think so. That channel in the picture with my hand basically screws to the inside of the pinch weld in that lip then sits over the weatherstripping. So I think I just have to re-band 3/8 shorter and an eighth of an inch wider over the top to get full coverage or my weatherstripping to protect it. Thanks for the complimentOn the color, it’s really close to the 71 Toyota gray. It was the closest thing I could find that I thought could really work with all the different colors and accents etc. Wilsee. I go back-and-forth on the black hinges, but I think they might work. I know it’s a major faux pas, so tbd.

I have never seen those trim pieces before. Would be keen to find out from others if they have them, and if them are OEm? I would say paint the hinges:)

How's the weather there? Maybe you don't really need windows, time to start driving! :)

You guys really made quick work of this thing! I know its not a factory color but I still really like the combo against the white interior walls and the tan seats, came out looking very sharp! Plus I'm a sucker for a white-roofed FJ.

Hello and I like the way you think. Appreciate the compliments, landing the color was by far the most agonizing decision of the restoration. Thank you

Yeah, regarding speed, I’ve had some great helpers the last few weeks. Now they got a taste for it, the hardest part is keeping three of them simultaneously busy. My daughter is a gaske making machine which has been huge time saver! They also can’t get enough of sandblasting. They think that’s the best.😀

Love the color, Im not so sure about the white letter tires facing out though just my opinion.
Thank you and yeah, in hindsight probably should have switched it. I guess I just need to wear this version out sooner and do it differently on the next set. :)

That’s awesome. My kiddos are 2 and 5, hope they get into it someday! Although I don’t have my own sandblaster entertain them!

Paint decisions are really tough. I’m struggling with the same on the 28.

Those are good ages. Couple years they will be in the thick of it with you! Regarding color, one thing that finally helped me was applying a funnel concept to the selection process. I Started at the top with all available colors, then worked my way down through a series of requirements. I can share mine late tonight or tomorrow if you want.
