I always wondered what the snaps were for that were on my floor...your mat tells the story.
The restoration is looking great!

Yeah that old mat has seen some action, but managed. Thanks for the compliment , we get closer every week.

I have to say I’ve never seen one of those. Very cool! Now you just need to repro them ;) what other floor mats were in the LVs from the factory?

looking great, love the shade of white on interior. I have a trans hump cover on a 64 fixed top that is the same as your floor mat material just black. Love seeing updates

Yeah, I will say I was going down a different trail until I put that in for reference. I will work with some guys to see if we can remake. If I can get some traction, I’ll let the crew know.

I found this one in my pile of mats. Looks like this is for the back, snaps under the rear seat. Anyone recognize this beast? I’m going to dig through more of my stuff as I may actually have all the mats. My upholstery guy will look at it and see if he can see these up. Also sample material is on its way. Stay tuned. Cheers

Thank you and any chance you could post a pic of the hump cover? That would be awesome to add to the list!

you would think being the much the same and on different continents, that they would be OEM, they are also same pattern material as early 40, 45 side step covers

Looks like we have a common material across the 3 trucks and 3 different countries!! that is pretty awesome. I am going to keep pushing on this to see if I can get something done. I know it's a long shot, but worth it if we can get some traction on reproducing. With the cut outs, holes and sewing, It looks like it is more of a job for an upholster than a mat company.

So finally got these old girls cleanish. They’re not back to new but wish I had before and after pics. All it took was Murphy oil soap and about 30 gallons of rinse water. Does anyone know the reason behind the different colors. Do you think that was by design or just happenstance?

I could be wrong but I don’t think your truck would have had seatbelts from the factory. Someone likely added them at some point. I think 68 was when the US started to require them anyway... (link) someone correct me if I’m wrong. Searching the web seems to uncover several possible dates in the 1960s. Maybe others with early trucks can chime in?

pretty sure it’s ok to add them now ;) ha

FWIW I like those airline style buckles the best in these old rigs. That’s what I have in mine.

1963 was the year the law went into affect. Prior to that seat belts were hit and miss options with US OEM’s.
