Do you have any history on the past restore of this bed? Spec. the wheel wheels? It could be a factory change (from pre-64) that there aren't any well supports but maybe those were eliminated in the past? Just some cat thingy ... curiosity ...

No telling. It had lots of mud stuck in holes. It’s old. Who knows.

Heat shield is done. Going to Cerakote when I get back.

Also adding some bumperettes to fit with the 4Plus …. They are off to powder too …. The one on the right is from a OEM stash off a Saudi 40. Check that chrome

Rotunda is back in the mix

Friday I am delivering it to Ozark Overland Outfitters. @Ozark cruiser started off his automotive career as a paint and body guy before going off to Toyota to become a Master tech. His shop is equipped with a full paint booth and he’s going to fix the south of the border style paint job.

I have a huge box of gaskets, including the newly released @Racer65 split window gaskets to put this thing back with a paint job worthy of this level build.

Lockwood has threatened a sale but I think after operation “go quiet” and the fresh paint job I have an outside chance of getting this one back into his new barn.

In the meantime I’m putting it back together for the trip north to Missouri Friday.

Wizard built heat shield was ceracoted

@ToyotaMatt redid the Light and Wiper knobs to match the rest of the restored knobs

Also, we added back the custom cut bumperettes. This rear really looked nekked without them since this model does not have the lights on the frame corners.

Now I know where I left that cooler.

i decided to document the concourse grade restoration end product of these 2 first generation LIGHT and WIPER " ROTORY " switch knobs with a method that's
both new and exciting for me personally and suggests gratitude to the FJ45 's owner / operator as well ...... :)

note :

- if you can't view this INSTAGRAM Link , ? , i suggest you run right down and sign your self up so u can , this particular REEL was both un-planned and un-scripted , i also

shot it in the 1st take and preformed NO post production edits of any kind , much of that is shear raw LUCK , but there was a positive vibe in the air that morning as i
sipped my tripple strength green-Tea , randomly set the stage of events and SKUNK-WORK 'd away with the NIKON .......

i hope this puts a smile on your face today ,

- thank you very much Mr. @jomelo & @wngrog for the privilege to participate in your build in the small details matter way i can ........

kindly ,
matt
