We discussed some future mods to this project that are really going to be super cool.

Then we headed back to the Cruiser Container to inventory his other items and come up with a plan for the 💩45

Nice! What's the plan for the red FJ40?

Is it available? I'm looking for a replacement for my stolen cruisers :(

Yes it’s for sale. Have not had time to get to it but you can message me. It’s pretty special

If these parking brakes are like 80 series you access the star adjuster through a hole in the hat. You have to have the hole at about 6 o'clock. In your pic looks like the small hole between two of the stud holes may be that hole.

There ain’t no adjuster hole in these hats.

Nice work - really like what youre doing to the old truck

I busted out some 80 series brake hats I had and found the adjustment hole and marked it on the hats that I have.

Hit it with the carbide bit and opened up to where I can get in there with a screwdriver

These full float hubs just barely fit in the Acorns.

If these parking brakes adjust like those on the 80 series you'll turn the adjuster wheel on the driver side upward. Insert screwdriver pointed down and leverage the wheel upward.

On the passenger side the wheel rotation will be opposite, rotate the adjuster wheel downward to spread the shoes. Angle the screwdriver into the hole upward, catch it on a tooth and pry the adjuster wheel downward.

Thanks Godwin. I know that will help. I always have scratch my head on adjusting any drum brake setup 3-4 times and usually do it wrong as many times to get them right.

I got the other brake lines run tonight before I called it a day.

I’ll pressure it up tomorrow with the Motive Bleeder and see what’s leaking

@scrapdaddy I got the estopp installed.

Turns out both the 70 series ebrake handle and the estopp cable are both 6mm 1.25 so I’ve got some turnbuckles on order to join the two up.

Found a good spot on the frame downwind of where the crossmember will likely be and marked it up

Next I made a bracket to hold the cable. This would normally be the plate the handle attaches to in the tub

I looped it gently back to the drivers side since the exhaust will be on the passenger side with the Robocop motor

Of course the hardest part when you are old is drilling 4 holes in the frame. This box does not have any stress on it so it’s mounted with M6 rivnuts

The kit comes with the wiring to just run 3 wires and make the push buttton switch good for engaging and releasing. Sweet setup for sure.

@cruiseroutfit git me sorted out with the correct 18mm shackles and bushings for the rear.

There is no weight on the truck so that is why the shackle angle is goofy.

I also pushed the rear axle back an inch. It looks better and it will likely go back 2 more inches when weight is on the truck.

Ship it to Justin and let him have his way with it.

I gotta finish my wife's 45 before I take on a complete rig. This whole desert racing thing eats 93.7% of my shop time
