Got the center cab section cleaned, degreased and the last of New Mexico out of the body channels and frame.

Again, this truck is in such fine condition under here it’s crazy.

I went double thick on the kick panels, driver floor and tranny hump. I’ll end up putting more Lizard Skin under the hump once I get the holes cut for the shifters.

I spent hours doing this to my 40 and my 55 and it’s really a game changer for cab noise and floor temps.

You can see my cutoff line in the engine bay. I’m going to get this thing on the ground and remove and grind out the motor mounts so there is no reason to get the front of the frame pretty yet.

@wngrog Do you have a post in one of your threads where you outlined your cleaning process. Not the CLR/Patina routine, but like this underside. Looks like you're doing it dry, since you're in your shop and you've got a "clean" pile of crud on the floor.

It's a treat (and inspiration) to watch these threads.

Hmmm, tin cups....

I do all my frames dry. It’s a mess but I hate the “mud” you get from washing the frame.

In the frame I chip and blow it out with air and use a shop vac.

On the body I use a plastic brush and compressed air and then the same plastic brush and Zepp Orange.

I just recommend taking it a section at a time not to get overwhelmed.

Once the drivetrain is in I’ll fill the frame and all the open cavities up with a good later of Fluid Film.

Early in this discussion we were leaning toward putting a canvas top on it using OEM 70 series bows. We knew it was going to need some mods to make them work in the shorty bed. These photos are an FYI if anyone else thought they wanted to do this. You will need to take about 4” off them in width.

We are tabling this for another to be released later idea that will be way more functional

This Beno box is frightening. All the parts for the Full Float 70 axle that go with the ones I photographed earlier.

Beno bing the pro that he is sent me the parts schematic to known where all this crap goes.

Just when you think @Onur's out of the game...he's back and in full force!

Robocop time, please!

View attachment 2258267Going to move Rotunda to the old shop soon and get it on jackstands. Surely @RustyNailJustin will have something good for me soon

As soon as parts get here I am back in the game. Shipping could be a challenge. We shall see. But no worries it will get there even if I deliver it myself.
Stokes to keep this build rolling.

What! No powder coat?

Absolute best of the best when you are using OEM parts. @cruiseroutfit hooked me up with this batch.

Well that was fun. First side took me a while to figure out (I’m not an 80 series guy so all this full float stuff is new to me)
Second side was a breeze.
Looks like we are in business with this thing. Waiting on brake rotor hats and it will be ready for that Harrop 3rd

I think I have this Ebrake assembly in the correct position. If this does not look right Let
Me know.
