Still working on the underside. The bed floor had a lot of dings and dents. Hammered out, that left a lot of dolly marks underneath the vehicle. Those had to be fixed and sanded by hand. That combined with a cold winter slowed the progress down.

Impressive! Were you able to reach all the hard to reach spots that needed dollying by yourself, or did you have another set of hands to help? I had to get creative with the use of floor jack and blocks/dolly on my 45 bed, but my creativity ran out (endurance as well) and so outcome was marginal at best (aka a “twenty footer” 😂).

I was able to reach it all with different tools. It took forever! My hands were cramped in a clenching grip several times. That is why this is taking so long. When I start to get frustrated and tired I walk away for awhile.

Hurts my hands thinking about it! Very impressive work Gabe, it’s coming along great and (relatively speaking) rather quickly too in my opinion! There are no short cuts with body work, very well done.

Gabe, have you sourced nos motor oil yet?🤣🤙
Oddly enough, no just kidding.... If I thought the oil would still be good I might consider it.

Toyota did contract with Castle Oil Company in the 1940’s and eventually purchased the company from what I understand. At least controlling interest in the company back in the 1950’s. I was able to find 2 vintage Castle Oil Cans and added those to my collection. I have a small one and a large 5 gallon one. This small one below was a Commerstive piece turned into a lighter I’m lucky to get it because customs seized it stating it was a lighter and illegal to ship. After arguing with them over several emails I was able to get them to pull the lighter out and ship only the can. The third can I purchased was very cool. It was a one gallon square early 1950’s can. It was seized due to having oil in it and considered flammable materials. Shame because it was amazing!
