Nice collection of parts!! Cant wait to see them all bolted on.

I saw your oil presser sensor and was wondering if your gage cluster has an idiot light or gage for the oil pressure? If you have the light you're going to need this.
EDIT
Toyota Part Number, 83530-60030

I guess that is a good question. My gage cluster is getting restored now and I didn’t check that. Will have to figure that out

Who is restoring your cluster? Do they fix broken gages by any chance? I cant get the temp gage to work on my FJ25 HT

Yes I have the early gauge. It’s Bob’s Speedometer in Howell, MI.. They can fix and restore about anything.

I know I’ve said it before, but really beautiful work. For years I strayed from the Land Cruiser world because it has become dominated by people who bought them as status symbols, or were looking to make maximum $$ by flipping them. Your build thread is inspirational because I can tell by the time you spent with the bodywork and sourcing parts that you understand and care about 25s and early 40s.

Thanks for that. I always try to do my best when I take on a task. I do it to the best of the abilities that God gave me. This project is taking a long time however I have had a blast working on it and acquiring the parts is half the fun.

I hate to ask you this, but is your inside cowl panel supposed to be body color or black? These are both 58s.

That’s a good question. I choose the firewall only. Mainly because with the painted fender and aprons and black on the side I think it looks off. I know they did that because it was easier to spray it all black. I just think the finished product will look better that way.

Life has been keeping me crazy busy. Work full time, daughters are in volleyball, cheerleading, and basketball. Plus I made a 4 year commitment to be on the board of our local Sheriffs office. That is up in January and I’m finally ready to try and squeeze in some Cruiser build time.

My sd-40 carburetor was just finished and I’m ready to kick it in gear.

I can relate! But cruisers can always wait, your kids are only kids for a short while. Glad they get to enjoy lots of time with dad!

That’s one nice big-window SD40!

Wow! Who did your carb?
