Dang, good eye @tahoe40/45. Didn’t know that about the 25’s with the tall tool boxes.

You might want to double check the rear securing of the tool box lid. I think the footman loops behind the tool box that you have are for the short tool box, tall tool box has 2 of the tool box latches bolted on the back side to secure the lid.
Short tool box lid has extended bracket that slides under the footman loops.

Now I am confused. 1958 should originally have tall tool box. But Gabe has got footman loops on the tub for 1958? I think short tool box was fitted from 1960 model year.

My 1958 tub was very rusted. I am using a later tub and changing things so that it transforms into a 58 tub

I can’t believe I have never noticed that before. I am half tempted to just weld the bracket on. I don’t think it looks right drilled. What are your thoughts? Holes with rivets or bolts or have it look perfect from the outside?
This is what Toyota did for the hard top. I think they needed more room for the B-pillar.

Im going to keep mine that way, with the holes, its just one of those unique things about the FJ25 that i like.

I wonder if that was a PO repair, or just another method Toyota used? My late 58 and 1960 FST both have the slotted screws through the body.

Gebe, it’s your choice. I think if your tub is not drilled then may as well keep it looking clean.
