I have noticed almost everybody on here has 16 Wheels. Is anybody running 17's?
If so what size tires are you running and can you post pics?

I'm running 17" KMC beadlocks with Falken 35x12.50r17 Wildpeak M/T. So many more tire options with 17" wheels.

Plenty of peoples run 17. In fact pretty common when bumping to a 37. I have a set of steelies in 17 for that exact reason, just havnet pulled the trigger on new meats. It also opens up some doors on availability, selection and cost.

cragar 17s w/ kenda klever 35s... i had a set of spacers but i took them off...

@aae42 I've been thinking about a short bus and spotted corrosion on the drivers side of yours. Can you tell me what the issue is? Thanks.

I was interested in running the 4Runner/FJC Trail wheels with a set of 285/75R17's. I thought this would be a good tall skinny look with better road manners than the 315/75R16 option. Any pictures or comments on that setup for overlanding/wheeling.

I put 17" American Racing Outlaw II 6x5.5, 17x8 4.5" backspacing wheels on my crapbox this weekend:

I think it looks pretty good and as others said gives me more tire options in the future.

17x9 rock crusher steelies with 40x13.50r17 toyo open country mt's

If I get 17's im thinking about going 295/70r17. I like the tall skinny look also..

Got a better pic of the rims?

I switched up to 17s so I could move up to 37s easier. I found a nice clean Lightly used set of 5 MB Wheels from an FJC 8.5 x 17. Available from Discount Tire. DOT-T rated. No spacers needed. Paid $280 for the set. Look nice, but I don't really care too much, since I can't see them from the driver's seat !! :hmm:

I have been running the FJ rims for several years. 37x12.5 KM2's and now 37x13.5 nitto mud graplers. Ran 12 psi everywhere with KM2's and now 10psi on mud graplers. $125 for 5 FJ rims. The paddles on the rims add traction in the rocks. :hillbilly: I have never lost a bead.

i don't know of any serious corrosion, you might be looking at wet sand smeared on it

I just put a set of 255/80 BFG Mud Terrains on a set of 17" FJ Steelies. I don't have the wheels/tires on my rig yet as I'm doing other maintenance, but I'll snap a picture when I do!

This really will be the tall skinny, look - which is what I hear the ladies really dig! ;)

Are you running spacers? What tire size?
