Did not like the aftermarket overflow tank the previous owner used. Seemed appropriate to use the 60 series one.

My buddy put one of these in his 60, neat to see one running in a pig!

Jimmy, I have your 55 tunnel cover from @dogfishlake. Remind me to throw it in my truck when we meet this week.

Found the ultimate (to me) kill switch for the 12HT. It’s a vac operated pull switch (google TEMco PV0156). No more concern with the VSV and all the freakin vac lines etc. I think I’ll convert my 60 to this as well. Have a hole in the dash where the choke handle use to reside.

That valve is pretty cool. I might be after a couple of those. 55 is looking good

So going with the Bosh alternator requires a different wire setup from the Toyota one. It requires Romeo 12V sources plus the back feed for the gauge. My son set me straight as he used the same alt with his conversion. I’m running Toyota on my 12HT and used it as a guide initially and no positive action with the battery. I’ll upgrade the jumper to 10g and clean up all the connectors so it looks factory.

Been a while since I’ve updated this thread. I’m about done with my work here and it will be going back to Parrish in Raleigh. I’m finishing up the trans hump. Welding in a new plate (please don’t criticize my welding skills :) ) and will cut in new holes for the shifter boots. The piece with the holes/patches is what I cut out of it. Then I have to figure out the wire connections for the reverse lights and 4WD indicator and then get power steering lines made. Unfortunately the previous owner cut the wire harness at the starter so I have no clips or pattern to work from. Pretty small jobs and looking forward to finishing this one.

Monroy will be happy. ;)

Ha...he’s all excited to see me finish this job :). One thing I did not anticipate is the H55 sits fairly higher in the tunnel. The trans hump won’t mate to the floor so I’m goi g to cut out part of the top and box it in raising it an inch or so. Not what I wanted to do. The other option is to lower the trans some but don’t want to screw with the alignment. The red square is what I’m raising. Should cover the raised area on the top plate.
