Ok guys checking in on how’s the swaps going? I 3D scanned the converter board to hopefuly
Learn how to create a 3D print model box to mount the converter board. I am stalled out doing vacation stuff on my 80. I need a hi amp alternator upgrade on it to power my inverter load. That taken me away from my 100 series MaxxECU project.

Still waiting on DriftHQ for the bell housing adapter, I assume @TrailBornRunner is as well but at least I hope he had fun at cruise moab. I should be getting some trans cooler stuff today but that's not super exciting.

I'm probably going to try and pull the case apart now that I have the rebuild kit but I want to try and get the exterior of the case cleaned up. I just need a few days to make sure I don't mess anything up.

I reached out to DriftHQ since I had previously been told 3-4 weeks until it got to the states and now we're on week 5.

More updates: DriftHQ said that the bell housing is getting sent across the pond this week. Also got the HPR cooler adapter and installed.

This build is taking a while due to shipping and money delays unfortunately

Just got back from my Utah/cruisemoab trip, about 1400 miles round trip with hard desert driving. In the same boat as you @Papa Wickey, I'm waiting on the adapter till I actually do anything, or at least till I have confirmation it's on US soil. But I also have a bunch of other work that needs to be done on the 100 before I keep wheeling it hard, most likely pulling the engine/trans soon to chop the front of my frame off to better fit the solid axle, the plated factory frame just isn't holding up to my abuse, especially after this trip

I guess I know what I'm doing this weekend, last I talked to Domiworks right after I posted that reply above, it almost sounded like I wasn't going to get it till June haha, so this is kind of a surprise.

Oh guys great! Glad you got your items in and interested and seeing how it comes together.

I am building a Hobby shop with a 11,000 two post lift. So when I get that completed I will tackle my 100 too. Kinda follow your lead.

I've got my priorities ass backwards lol, all my 8hp swap money was supposed to be part of building a new shop with a lift. If I knew how long it was going to take to get this engine adapter, I probably would have put this swap off till the off-season and just collected the parts over the summer, but instead spent it all thinking it'll all be had by March.

Looks like we both got mail today. I got a few more months saving up for my TCU but I still need to tear into my 80 case. Let me know how it goes on your end!

My Adamat adapter arrived around same time.
The torque converter adapter does not use OEM flex plate and came with the starter ring installed. Not sure which design is better.

Unfortunately I have been lacking on the ability to get into the shop to split the transfer case and install the new input shaft. Good news is I hopefully should be able to grab the turbolamik TCU in August once I get back from a work trip and then should free up some time to get back to making progress on this. Unless I get "good" news in August and then have my free time tank until September :(

Been so busy with work lately, 100 has been without a trans for almost 2 months now, and Cruisers on the Rockies is exactly a month out, so better get going on this project. Bolted up the engine adapter, had to cut the driver side exhaust flange to get it on, passenger side will most likely need cut off to as it could hit the transmission. Also the starter bolts get blocked by the transmission, so a starter replacement means dropping the trans👎 luckily did an OEM starter a couple years back.

starter bolts get blocked by the transmission
That's... gonna be a problem. Any chance that a cutout could be made into the adapter/transmission bell housing to better access those bolts? I'm assuming not =/ I did that starter replacement on my truck and those 2 bolts pulled some new swear words out of me...

The only way around this is by getting the smaller bellhousing 8hp's. The one I'm using is considered the biggest bellhousing pattern for an 8hp. I've seen the other adapters with the smaller pattern have cutouts for the starter, had i know this, I would have spent the extra money on one. This picture of an N57 adapter shows the 2 little cut outs right above the bellhousing bolts for the starter bolts.

But it is possible to notch out the 2 holes in my adapter, I just dont have time right now. And I know in the future I'll be pulling the whole drivetrain out as a whole for other reasons.
