Just spent the day driving this 2001 that I purchased for Will.

I went by Dustin’s house and swapped the drivers seat from his rust bucket to my truck. Mine was completely gone in the bottom.

Not perfect but the price was right. Thank you so much @Dustin Messina

I then took it to Brookhaven Toyota where Mike and his crew reprogrammed my truck to accept a master key and fob.

I was running on a valet key and now we have a plain master key and a OEM remote key.

Cost was $197 for remote blank and $30 for plain. Programming and cutting was $120. If your plain key is a master key then programming is just $40.

I filled it up for the first time with 2.03 cent 87 test and got 14.4 mpg.

Truly remarkable what a one owner properly maintained 100 with 279,000 miles on it can drive like.

I plan on doing the @dnp mods to it this weekend and pop the flares and running boards off before he starts yelling at me.

FYI my Scan Gauge showed me years ago if you run with power button on you are running your trans about 15 to 20 degrees higher. Not really a big deal but when in low/low on trails that extra temp was alarming.

Yeah I’m covered on eBay. Takes 30-45 days. All good. All the signs were there. Should have passed on that one.

I popped off the flares yesterday. Paint is nasty but not horribly destroyed. 95% will buff out.

Some body shop attached a new set through the door via self tappers.

Everything under here checked out nicely. New looking Ts, belts, radiator, hoses.......

Polished the truck with orbital. Got the lenses all clean. Treated the rubber with restorer. Black all popped nicely.

I’m dumbstruck over it. The whole truck is pretty damn clean. Lots of door dings and such.

I plan on painting the trim and there is a strip under the grill that’s pretty chipped. Gotta order some body color rattle cans.
