Lexus LX 470 4 Wheel Drive **Pearl White** LIKE NEW!
This popped up on craigslist but not much info.
k, That one is way above what we are willing to pay for one. Thanks though Andy. David I will keep that in mind. Lexus or Toyota doesnt really matter to her. We just have a price range we want to stick to around 25K so we will have to pick one up from a private owner or get one at auction. I am not one to allow a dealership to make 5 to 10k on me.
They are smaller (easier for the wife to park), but still have a 3rd row.
x2 on that! Val has an '03 GX, and it's a sweet ride.......in fact, it's smoother and quieter than my LX! I like the suspension on mine better (the GX is softer), and if I thought men should drive GX's, I wouldn't mind having one myselfIt may be hard to find a newer 100 in that price range. Has she looked at the GX470s. We just picked up one for my wife and she loves it. They are smaller (easier for the wife to park), but still have a 3rd row.

The reason the 100 series is set up like a stinkbug with the rear so high is because the rear springs SUCK with any load
I towed my big trailer the other day from Lenny's and got a major squat, but that thing is a monster so I expected that.
I towed my 14' 4 wheeler trailer with my wife's bad ass pink golf cart today and got a major squat too. I am sure if I had not cranked my front torsion bars to level it, it would have been level though.
Anyway, with 112,000 miles, I have decided to replace the shocks with Bilstein's all around like Martin did and add Air Lift 1000 bags. $357.16 for everything. I don't want any more lift and I think the springs are OK, they are just not really set up for towing.
I ran these bags in my 1996 FZJ-80 and they work AWESOME for $85.00.
Maybe Leonard will have free space on his lift one day, that would make the shock install a snap.
Martin, can I borrow your 7/8 ratchet that we used on yours?
Here is where I got the shocks ($272.00):

Here is the place I got the bags ($85.16):

Agreed! 4Runner: acceptable. GX: women only (unless the male owner is willing to TOTALLY transform it into an off-road truck - i.e., it can bear no semblance to a GXMen can drive GX's. Its called the V8 AWD 4Runner Limited.
Definitely have her look at an LX470. She'll like it. Also, remember that buying from a dealership vs. an individual will add another 2% in tax (not to mention the liklihood of an overall higher purchase price)Toni just wont have the GX, I have tried that route and she wants the full size. I have talked two used lot guys down to 29 on their 06 LC's but still not quite low enough. Fair trade value is 25k on a 06 and that is what I would be willing to pay, it may just take a little time but we will scratch one up eventually.
I concur. For your use, the "weaker" front end and no locker would be a disappointment. Plus, 206K, even on a 2UZ, is still high miles to start out with (not as big a concern if it's been cared for, but that's still a high starting point) And yes, 90K is the regular interval for a timing belt (and the smart money goes with a water pump change at that point also).............I dunno. If it were me, with over 200K, that'd be an $8,500 max vehicle. IIRC, there were a lot of nice, inconspicuous upgrades in 2000 (the primary one, in this economy, was the change to allowing the use of regular gasoline [the 99 requires premium]) Edmunds.com says: "2000 Toyota Land Cruiser: Land Cruisers gained standard equipment, including a new Active TRAC traction control system with integrated vehicle skid control. Using data from the 4-wheel antilock brake sensors and other sources, this system directed power to the wheels with best traction. Formerly optional, a power moonroof and leather upholstery became standard. Automatic rear air conditioning, independent of the regular system, now came with the optional third-row bench seat." Nolen, you're the most recent 100 hunter I know of, so can you think of any other items I've forgotten?waiting on pics:
Toyota Land Cruiser, '99, 1 owner. In great condition. Silver $11,900.
206000K, no locker, silver, super clean
Even super clean that's a 9K truck, isn't it? It's time for timing and a water pump.
