Great photos JDMGoodness. I'm glad to like your new EMSPowered exhaust. Did it make it back across the border all safe and sound?

To those who have removed the stock exhaust and midpipes/CATs.

Is there anyway to get them off so that they could be re-used again?
Yes, simply unbolt them and they are completely reusable, as JDMGoodness mentioned.

Yes.

Undo the bolts and remove from hangers.

For those that would like it removed quicker use a Sawzall.

Thanx, I just noticed some saw marks in the pix posted and was wondering.

Baktash, I can't help myself...

Do you have any header prototype pix yet?

I emailed you guys on Friday and I still haven't gotten a reply....

FWIW, I had my cats cut out of my LC in the middle of the day in a city park so I was looking for a replacement. I ran across the EMS mid pipes and decided to replace them with straight pipes no cats as I didn't want to deal with that again. I also figured since my exhaust was all rusted up anyhow and I was going to take the exhaust apart I might as well replace the cat back too.

I just finished installing the set yesterday and it took about 5 hours with a friend helping (actually he did most of it.) We had to use a torch to get the bolts off the headers but the rest we cut out as it was all one rusted lump. Everything went together pretty well. The clamps are kind of a pain in the ass but they work well once they are on. The welds are very well done and it is all very solid.

The sound is loud! I have mid-pipes with no cats and the tail pipe I bought without resonator/silencer. It is a very deep sound and sounds good but it is loud and it drones at 2000 as stated by others. At idle it is not much louder than stock.

The mid-pipes with no cats does not trigger my check engine light, or at least not yet (50 miles driven highway and in town). I reset it by disconnecting the battery for 10 mins. It has not came back on yet. Interestingly enough I am getting about 2 mpg better right now, however, it is still been only 50 miles. (I did fill the tires back up as they were low and it has been too cold to check until now so that is probably some of it.) Also the power is noticeably better but I was also running it for 3 months with straight exhaust pipe welded in after the cats were stolen and the welds were leaking.

I have a couple of complaints but very small. Neither the exhaust nor the pipes came with bolts to connect the two. No big deal but I did have to purchase those. I had nuts and fancy clips for the mid-pipe/header connection and nuts and bolts for the O2 sensors. Also the brackets to connect the tubes were a PIA fitting the pipes and then sliding them around as we worked the pipes together. They fit snug now with no leaks. There are also no instructions so for those that need a picture you are out of luck.

Overall I am so far happy with the purchase and I realize a lot of this if not all of it is fairly subjective but just wanted to speak up and stop lurking. I drive a 2005 (93,000 miles) with the early model mid pipes, a brake controller is my only other non-stock mod unless you count stickers.

I ordered through a local connection here who says EMS isn't returning calls or emails so they are going to refund my money. Hmm?

Whats up?

At least a group update is expected if you can't return contacts.

Sometimes they are a little slow, especially when developing a new product. I had the same worries when I ordered my system from them and some of the same observances but had no problems when I ordered.

Hmm, I'll tell em to wait a bit then! Thanks for the vote of confidence.
