Ok I’m ready for T&E!!!! The top of the rack shelf is 5” from from the headliner as measured from the bottom of the rear cargo light. The rack is 17mm from perfectly centered due to the shape of the rear headliner with the rear AC unit. The top corner sits 3mm from contacting the headliner so it’s as high and tight I think it can be.

Im pretty excited about the rack also being easily removable with only 2 sets of screws and nuts due to custom machined hardware. Once the brackets are bolted into the handle locations that is. This also has custom machined standoffs just as a nice touch.

If this sounds good please PM me with an address and I’ll send out two preproduction T&E prototypes for free for feed back. First two ppl in lower 48.

PM sent bro,
I’m up in WNC too, so kind of close.

10-22,

But please put me down for two sets.

I can even put a deposit down if needed.

Would the kit come with the actual shelf or just the brackets?

Because they are so easily available the kit will only include the brackets and hardware. So far the Container Store 18 x 48 shelf has been validated in black (483010) and white (483011). I’m 99% certain chrome would work but haven’t actually tested.

My chrome shelf is waiting! Hahaha!
Actually in use on Ocracoke Island right now! Heading home tomorrow, :-(

The older LCs have one horizontal handle and one vertical handle. The newer LCs have 2 vertical handles. I'm wondering if 2 of the same vertical bracket would work for the later model LCs. I'm assuming the newer LCs use the same handles as the older ones, just oriented differently. Can someone tell me the distance between the bolt holes on the vertical bracket and I can measure on my rig?

I’m interested in a set for a 2003

Container store doesn't list this color but it's available in a "Metroseal Gray Epoxy" finish... which might appeal to the gray interior folks. Can't find an accurate picture of it though. (picture shown is the larger size with the additional center brace).

I will say the distance between two handle mounting locations in the 98-02 is 200mm. That holds true for both sides.

Update: CAD files are completed and I’ve been getting quotes. Metal prices, stainless in particular are like wood prices right now. At current quoted rates I feel the final price would be too high. I’m currently shopping for suitable materials at reasonable rates. Thanks for the interest everyone! I’ll post updates as I move along.

Please put me down for a single set - 99 100 series.

Quick update: Today is pretty exciting as I’ve filed for an LLC with the state of GA. Cottage Cruisers LLC will be up and running in the next few weeks! Email is live at cottagecruisers@outlook.com. As soon as I have an LLC I will register here as a vendor before any sales.

The first batch will be a limited run of 10 units in stainless. If all goes well I’ll ramp up for larger runs and then turn my attention to the later year models.

I would like to thank everyone for the feedback and frankly the push to do this. The Mud community has been so awesome!
