97 Cruiser really needs a reseal of the steering box, it is leaking at both ends. I am debating cracking it open and resealing it myself, or shipping it off to West Texas Offroad or Benchmark. For those that have done similar jobs, would you do it again/would you do differently the next time...
im rebuilding my 7/72 steering box, but somewhere in the process of dismantling it, getting my wife pregnant, building a house and raising that child to the ripe old age of 2, i've lost the "rear bearing cap packing", (steering box shims and gasket) and the sector plate gasket. i assume i can...
Steering box out of my 1997 Landcruiser fj80
Rather deal local so I don't have to ship (phoenix area, arizona)
Got power steering box all parts cleaned and ready to be painted and rebuilt, sector shaft is broken and shouldn't be used.
Make me an offer I don't have any ambitious to rebuilt it...
My manual steering box has a slight leak. I've been looking around and have found lots on the older boxes including rebuild threads. I was hoping someone out there sold a rebuild kit for it but it doesn't look it. Does anyone know of someone who sells one?
Thanks!

To Those That Twister Sector Shafts... were you able to reuse your pitman arm? Is it a case by case basis or is there a hard and fast rule to never reuse? Could save me some time of trying to get the damn thing off if its junk anyways.
This isn't mine but is pretty close to the degree of bends I...
Hi
I couldn't find the answer to this (maybe I suck at searching) but if I have an LJ70 1989 STD model with a non-power steering box, is it possible to install a power steering box as replacement? Specifically, a power box of a LJ70 VX or similar (another LJ70 anyway).
Thanks
The steering on my HJ61 has gotten really bad, but with too many projects and way too little time, I just don't have the time to do what I would like: do a real frame-of...
Is there any way of diagnosing wether it's the pump or box that is failing?
Right around middle it feels ok, as in not...
