manual steering box (1 Viewer)

im rebuilding my 7/72 steering box, but somewhere in the process of dismantling it, getting my wife pregnant, building a house and raising that child to the ripe old age of 2, i've lost the "rear bearing cap packing", (steering box shims and gasket) and the sector plate gasket. i assume i can use a liquid gasket for the sector shaft plate but i understand the shims and gasket (packing) against the lower bearing cup sets pre-oad on the worm gear. so any ideas? ive got a call into Mark's but so far i cant find any parts on line.

I have a few right hand drive steering boxes somewhere in the shed. If you send me a PM I can dig one out for you but not sure if there the same as left hand drive boxes.

The gasket "shims" needed will of course, vary box to box. Mark may have the shim set he could sell you.

Sorry, I cannot help you with that request. I have a limited supply of those gaskets, so I have to hang on to them for my in-house rebuilds. Make sense?

It appears the 0.1mm gasket/shim is still available from Toyota (if I'm understanding your needs correctly). You should be able to buy several of these to get the pre-load you need. Part number 45322-55010, which has been replaced by 45216-59010.
