My PartsOUQ vin numbered diagrams don’t actually have the rubber hood bumpers shown. The only diagram I could find was a generic one with them labeled as “15”.
Anyone have either a part number or recommended aftermarket option?
I’ve been trying to sort this one out for a few months now, but in the pictures below, you can see my vintage air condenser mounting plate to the radiator is not straight, and therefore binds underneath my hood ever so slightly (on passenger side). I have a small piece of rubber molding right...
I have been working on getting my 86 fj60 running - my D. Buns let it sit - anyway last night while horsing around I noticed a connector just hanging actually looks a little burnt on one side- I cannot find an image hopefully with all the knowledge on this site I can find out what I’m dealing...
I'm not sure of the actual name of the part. It is the rubber bumpers on the front corners that support the hood when it is closed. Picture with highlighted area below. I was wondering why the hood was tilted when closed. It turns out 1 bumper is gone and the other is pushing through the frame.
My insulated hood liner is about shot after only 27 years. In our climate is it better to not have the liner? I'm sure I'll hear more engine noise but curious what others have done.
Thanks.
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me where the horn location should be under the hood? Should be a simple find but obviously not so simple for me. I tried the horn fix at the steering wheel with the .22 casing but it did not work. I went to test the fuse and it is fine. Then went to test the horn and...
Well, I made the mistake of ordering an FJ 40 hood spear ornament from JT Outfitters and a couple months later I'm good spearless, so I requested and received a refund. (Thank you PayPal).
Anyone have one? Doesn't have to be pretty; pretty wouldn't look right on Mavis. Picture for attention.
Hi Fellows
My vehicle has lost a clear coat on 3 different spots on the hood which are about 4 inches in diameter each. Base coat is still good.
I am wondering if it is best to clear coat just the area that lost the clear coat (or perhaps a few inches more to help blend in with the existing...
I have a 88 FJ62 with a tired, old hood release latch and cable. It ‘works’ and releases the hood, but upon pulling the release pull under the steering wheel, the handle stays slack…and I have to push it back into its sleeve.
Questions:
do I need a new hood release cable? Is there some kind...
I have gone up to Seattle auto show yesterday they had lx600 in luxury package. Was hoping to see gx or lc250 but none was present. I drive lc200 and prefer sitting upright and have a higher view of the ground and get hood line down by sitting higher and little bit more forward. I am 6.2...
I live in NM, but travel to Oklahoma once a quarter. I have an 80 series hood (4k1 color code) that was painted by the previous owner. This was on my 1994 FZJ80. It needs to be stripped and re-painted, or run it as is. I found a suitable replacement here in NM, so this one has to go. $150 and I...
Good afternoon.
I have a handful of items hanging around that are in the way. Having trouble loading pics right now but I will upload ASAP.
All parts are in Tulsa, OK. All from an FJ40. Prefer not to ship as most of these items are fairly large and unwieldy, but I realize I'll probably have to...
In the midst of reassembling my 72' after paint and spent the day putting front fenders, bib, grill, hood, etc. on. Running into some trouble with some of the hardware fitting on the hood.
1. The hold spacing for the windshield rests don't seem right. The spacing on these holes is 2 1/8"...
Trying to relax while my HJ is at the mechanic getting a look over and possible rewiring, so I am already thinking of cool things to do.
One of those things is putting the spare tire on the bonnet/hood. Anyone done that? I would imagine it would make the hood rather difficult to lift! Do...
I didn’t find anything in search. Mine got muddy AF. Can I spray it down with simple green and pressure wash it clean? It seems a brush will be too harsh to use. Then let it dry out then reinstall? New ones are $350ish.
Of course I will remove it from the hood. 🤓
