Two birfields out of a 1973 FJ40. Pulled them 8 years ago, been sitting since.
Condition: they look great. No obvious damage. Good cleaning and re-grease
and they will work fine. I drove on them from early 1986 to removal.
Shipped priority mail from 89145.
USPS money order only.
Has anyone used and have a good review of any aftermarket Birfields for 80 series cruisers? I have a 94 cruiser and I have had both birfields rebuilt. I just found out after about 40k miles that one has gone bad already. I'm aware of the Nitro brand. Are they any good or should I just have it...
I bought a pair of non-chromoly Nitro birfields, and the cage/star aren't the same as stock. I took them apart to grease them up, but now I can't figure out which part of the star and which part of the cage face out. The FSM doesn't help here since there's no "flat" or "protruding" side on the...
Howdy,
Just wondering if anyone has come across/ purchased TZK parts?
I recently found a pair of birfs with Toyota PN 43405-60120 for a good price and it says "TZK Japan".
Thanks in advance.
What the title says. Will buy either just a birfield with the lock ring or the entire assembly w/ axle shaft (will pay fair shipping). Just to be clear, I need the passenger side, non-ABS birfield. Thanks!
Has anyone compiled a list of parts to order before tearing into the Birfields? I'm at about 210K miles and can't find any evidence that they've been done. Just starting to get the very early clunks when turning.
I'd like to not have to get in there again for another 200K, so what should I...
So, I'm in the middle of a front axle rebuild as part of my baselining of my '94 LC. I've disassembled both birfs per the FSM and now am trying to judge the condition of the parts. I also have a 95 LC with 255k miles and the birfs didn't look this bad when I did that front end rebuild a few...
bought some Birf cv-joints and curious if they are the correct ones. i have a 1997 LC rigid front suspension or live axle ( not the car CV joint), from the factory non-locker... still non lockers.
Heres numbers off the box...HDK "TO-030" or its "T0-O3O" pretty sure its the first one. Does this...
I recently parted ways with the body and frame of my parts car (1975 FJ55), and now have these complete axles left over. Willing to sell them complete or in pieces, just let me know what you're after. Uber-reasonable pricing. I'd prefer not to scrap them if people need parts! Buyer to pay...
Hello fellow mudders,
I’m in a bind! For the past day in a half I’ve been trying to install my knuckle bearing racers. I have a 97 fzj80 that I’m doing a birfield rebuild on, the only thing holding the project up is the damn racers. I’ve tried the freezer trick, they’ve been in the freezer...
FRONT Third member pulled from a 1994 landcruiser 80 series, 4.10 open, gear wear pattern looks excellent! Also have inner axle shafts and outer birfields(without tone-rings for "ABS"), knuckles, spindles, steering arms, drive flanges, rotors. LOCATED IN GREENWOOD, SC, USA.
High Pinion third...
SOLD
Pulled off of a 1993 Land Cruiser. Passenger (short axle shaft side). This is off of an e-locked front axle (not sure if the splines are longer like in the locked rear axle, but it should work on non-locked axles as well). Splines look good. Small rough "ring" marking on the outside of the...
Looking for a machine shop near San Diego that has experience machining the double snap ring groove for hub part time kit install. Has anyone used a local shop?
Background: 1991 FJ80 with 191K miles
This is my first post. Up until now, I've just been lurking and learning.
This is my front passenger hub. I had noticed moly grease starting to leak. From what I am reading on here, it is at least an inner oil seal. Once I get it tore down enough to...
Hi everyone, I'm new to FJ62 ownership first post here! :)
I'm doing a front axle rebuild and am trying to get the freshly cleaned and repacked drivers side birfield back on its axle, but can't compress the snap-ring to get it in. I've tried using a hose clamp, and even a zip-tie to compress...
To start, I heard a bunch of bad stuff about TG's take over of longfield. Namely Longfield sourced their axles from RCV then heat/cryo treated them in house. Now, it is my understanding TG gets the longfields made in China. They don't have 300M internals, rather 4340 "double" heat treated...
