What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Finished the sound deadening on the rear floorboard and driver side. Still need to spray and roll the inside of the doors and anyplace else I can reach.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Today I riveted a piece of sheet metal over a small hole in the passenger floorboard and painted the floorboard after a good cleaning. Forgot the pcs, sorry. Then I continued the sound deadening project. Got the panel under the back seat and passenger side done. Next week the driver side and...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Got inspired by a previous post that I can’t find now about sound deadening, so today I did Wilbur’s cargo bay. Will start on the hood tomorrow. Is there a spray on that would work in the doors?

What we have is actually textured, so it might with the proper primer.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Makes sense. I have considered just painting the Kydex rather than trying to cover it with a fabric. It will definitely withstand anything the beach is going to throw at it. My shop foreman just brought the "1st pass". He cut them out of 1/8" MDF so I can take them and "prefit" them and let...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

I'm honestly not sure how the Kydex is going to take staples, hoping it will be OK. Will find out soon enough. I also have about 5 pallets of 1/8" MDF Pressboard in the warehouse if the Kydex ends up not working, but I'm confident it will be OK and last forever.

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Not all this week, but over the last few. Took the front clip apart, drilled out retapped and replaced every broken bolt and all the rest in the fenders, front panels, light frames, etc. Installed the hood “bumpers”, turns out the hood will not stay latched with all 4, so 2 it is for now...

    In cabin spare tire carrier.

That's the end goal yes, but the ones I see on line are pretty expensive. I know some pipe welders here in TX that should be able to fab one for me. Unless you know of a reasonable alternative of course.

    In cabin spare tire carrier.

Has anyone used the SOR inside cabin spare tire carrier (255-06) that is said to be for FJ60 & FJ62 in your pig? The distance between the mounting bracket holes of 16 1/4" makes me think it might be doable since 255-05 for the FJ55 has been discontinued. Anyone done it another way? The end...

What have you done to your Land Cruiser this week?

Yeah, I've tried rebuilding a couple of carbs. I always ended up with "spare parts" which never bodes well. "Let a pro do it" became my motto after that.

    Wilbur's First Beach Trip.

These tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3 265/75 R16. I run 36 psi in them typically but they are rated to 51 psi. Wilbur is less rattly and noisy on the pavement with the lower pressure anyway. Some guys will air down to 20-25 psi, or even less in some situations. They say it helps you "float" on...

    Wilbur's First Beach Trip.

Thanks. Bought him this way as far as the suspension and tires go. Don't think there's any lift and I don't see any branding on the shocks or the front stabilizer. I suspect stock leaf springs as well. The tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3 265/75 R16. I've been driving this beach for almost 50...

    Wilbur's First Beach Trip.

It took almost a year and a half of blood, sweat, tears, a little $$$ and some great help from several people on this forum to make possible Wilbur's inaugural trip to the beach today. Exactly what I bought and will continue to build him for. Wilbur ain't beautiful, but I don't need or want...
